Pricy, but strong and well thought out! First make sure your cupholders are located properly.
Ok, let’s get to it: This is a cup-based phone holder. Sounds simple, right? Well, WeatherTech has thought this one out pretty thoroughly, and you get five bases to fit different sized cupholders (from smallish to big gulp). The extending arm slides down into the cup portion until you are ready and then telescopes out of it, up about 4 or so inches to help with visibility. All joints are articulated (able to tilt and then tighten into place with knobs). You can turn the cup base 360 degrees, raise or lower the extending arm, move all jointed connections to where you want and then tighten them, and expand or contract the phone holder to secure a smallish phone (like an iPhone 4 or a largish phone like an iPhone 10). And even the way in which you disconnect the five interconnected bases when they arrive has been carefully thought out, with a provided device to help you push the click-together cups apart. I think this is a bit overpriced, but –that said– some of the competing products look like they wouldn’t last a day in actual use, and the WeatherTech unit is robust. And some cupholders, like the one in my wife’s 2009 Subaru Outback are too much in the center and too far back to make this holder easy to view while driving. It does well in my 2015 Toyota Camry, however. So, if you decide to buy a cup-based phone holder, think first about where your cupholders are. It could be that you will want a dash- or windshield-mounted unit if your cupholder is too far out of your line of vision. I would buy this again, even though it cost more than I wanted to pay. It is made in USA, and that is perhaps why it cost more, and even perhaps why it seems to be a better made (higher quality control).

Overpriced all high quality plastic
Revised review of previous information. I’ve got it installed and adjusted with ease. It works as advertised. But obviously WeatherTech has forgotten how to engineer a durable product for all users. Entirely made of high quality plastic. But durability is questionable for its extension bar and all adjustment knobs. These should have been entirely aluminum. The current product is obviously made for short people or others who may sit low in the driver seat. For tall people like myself or persons who sit with the driver’s seat in a high position, the highest that the phone can be placed is too low. Either by increasing the extension bar 4 in or by increasing the height of the plastic cups or a combination of both methods, the phone holder should be an additional 4 in higher. And for the price, this item is terribly overpriced at about $55 plus tax. As is, the Cupfone is worth a maximum of $25. And it certainly isn’t worth an extra 20 or more dollars to get knobs made from aluminum billet. The current price should at least include such knobs. The above deficiencies became so annoying, I tried a Miracase phone holder that outperformed by far the WeatherTech Cupfone. I returned the WeatherTech Cupfone to Amazon. I have kept the Miracase phone holder, which has highly satisfied me.
