Don’t want a loud keyboard? You want this….
I have been using the same Logitech wireless keyboard for somewhere around 12 years. My 8 month old has decided that it is very fun to play with that one. So I was in the market for a much needed upgrade and replacement.PROS: The keys have good travel and are, more importantly, not crazy loud. They do have an soft click to them that is satisfying for use typing or playing games but without the click is dampened to the point that, if you wish to type quietly, this is possible by just not pressing so hard. When you are putting alittle more force into the typing, say something intense is happening in your game, they are audible and clear. The keys and wrist rest are made of a very finely textured soft touch plastic, while the body is made of harder plastic. This offers stiffer construction so the board does not flex at all under normal use, while being easy on the hands to use for extended periods of time.RGB is bright and adjustable via the SteelSeries GG application which will sync the lighting to all SteelSeries devices if you so wish to. I use a Rival 3 mouse which has an illuminated scroll wheel RGB. Colors between the two match perfectly. The media controls are very handy. By default the wheel rolls to change volume and clicks in to mute while the button acts as play/pause. Key brightness can be controlled by pressing the SteelSeries key (located to the left of the right CTRL key and then pressing F11 or F12 for down and up respectively. There are 10 levels of brightness.CONS: It does not have a wireless which is ok but is something to note. The play/pause media button is illuminated and does not change from white. To be expected at this price point the RGB is sectioned equally off to 10 vertical zones. When the backlight is not on they keys are very hard to see.Overall this keyboard checks all the boxes for an all around winner. Soft on the hands. Quality construction. Enough RGB to please everyone but the most extreme RGB heads. Media controls are quick and easy to get to.I will be sending one of these to my buddy who is in need of an upgrade also.

Pretty Much Perfect.
I love everything about it. I can’t get into my BIOS with the delete key, but neither could my other keyboard except once on accident. So clearly the problem lies elsewhere. But thats irrelevant.I love membrane keyboards now. I’d always heard they felt bad. But they feel and sound great too me. Obviously a preference thing. It’s much quieter than my mechanical keyboard, and that was the entire point in me getting the keyboard. So that’s great. I can press these keys as fast I want without breaking the sound barrier! Keep in mind, any keyboard will be loud during intense gameplay, but this one is still quieter.I love having a full keyboard. Used to have a 60%. The extra keybinds are great. Feels super responsive in my experience. No complaints. The media wheel is pretty fun to play with. Just don’t accidentally blow out your eardrums by maxing the volume and forgetting it. The rgb is bright enough without flashbanging you. Nice weight. Feels like a solid keyboard. Material feels great. Magnetic wrist rest is awesome. I love it. I wish it was a little stronger of a connection, but it’s perfectly fine. No complaints. Can’t speak for software because I’m on Linux.Edit: I made into BIOS a long time ago. Just needed to hold the key instead of pressing it as fast as I could.

Good.
I can’t really say if the keys feel nice, since this is my first ever mechanical keyboard, so I can’t really compare. Key responses are good. Price is decent, would definitely recommend you get it when it’s on sale at $35 instead of the $45. Does require SteelSeries GG program, but account is not needed to customize.Wire length is good. Keyboard is stiff and doesn’t twist. Magnetic armrest is easy to take off and feels nice.

Loving this keyboard
I picked this up to use at work, which might seem weird being as it’s a gaming keyboard. I really wanted a keyboard that was similar to my ROG Strix Flare I use at home (but with a cheaper cost). I find using two differently shaped keyboards messes with my muscle memory. I can already tell I’m typing much better at work and making less typos since the key placement is nearly identical to my home keyboard.I really like the tactile feel of the keys. They aren’t too clicky and have a nice travel. The resistance is nice and soft. Almost on par with my old Logitech G910 which had an amazing feel to the switches. I will say, compared to my ROG Strix Flare, the illumination on the keys letter seems much more dim. But the lighting around/under the keys is nice and bright and the white backing beneath the keys has a nice finished look and adds to the glow.I’m also liking the magnetized palm rest. I hate the rest on the ROG Strix Flare as it doesn’t stay attached well when I move the keyboard around. This is a much better design, imo.I can’t really speak to how this works for gaming but I don’t see anything with the keyboard that might cause issues when gaming. For the price this cost (I got it on sale for $25) it’s a great value without feeling like a budget RGB keyboard.Edit: I decided I like this keyboard so much I purchased a second one to replace my ROG Strix Flare at home.

I had an old cheap membrane keyboard that I replaced with a decent mechanical keyboard. I did enjoy the feel of mechanical keyboards, but the noise they make is absolutely annoying. I had to keep my office door closed to not disturb my family when typing, so i was looking for a good quiet keyboard. All the reviews indicated this SteelSeries Apex 3 was the way to go and I have to say its a no brainer looking back. This is a membrane keyboard, but typing feel is great. The best part is its whisper quiet. It’s not silent, but it is about as quiet a keyboard as I have ever typed on and my typing accuracy is great. It drives me crazy typing on cheap membrane keyboards normally, but this model has really changed my mind. It includes simple cable management with a good length to connect to your computer.I can live without the RGB. It is kind of nice in a darker room and the SteelSeries universal software is easy enough to set the RGB just how you want it. I have a SteelSeries Rival mouse with matching RGB now, so maybe it is growing on me.Probably my favorite feature are the added media controls. On the top right corner there is a little scroll wheel which can quickly adjust the volume up and down with. Better yet, press the scroll wheel to quickly mute. There is also a lighted button just beneath that will pause and un-pause video. These simple features have become something I use regularly as I don’t need to use a mouse to find the options to make these adjustments now.Not only is the keyboard quiet and great to type on, but you get solid easy to adjust RGB, and these very handy media controls, all for about $70 (or less on sale). This keyboard won’t sway any mechanical keyboard diehards, but if you want a budget feature rich keyboard which is great to type on and doesn’t wake your neighbors, you won’t find a better option!

I bought this for my teenage son for his gaming rig. It looks great and the RGB matches his mouse and fans. The keyboard is solid as you would expect from the brand. The keyboard has been used daily for a few months now and it’s shown no issues.

I love this keyboard. It is really nice to type on, even with long finger nails. I ove the scroll volume control and I like the colourful lighting. I did find it a bit odd that the keys that the main numbers and symbols that type without the Shift are displayed above the shift characters, instead of above. The attached image of the new keyboard (top) compared to my laptop keyboard (bottom) shows what I mean. But I’m getting used to that.

Apart from the minor fact the led flashing/ cracking effect so many people talk about ( which has eventually been fixed somehow) it is a brillaint, beautiful keyboard. Plenty of customisation. However word of warning the flashing thing may happen if you alter the light settings on the app thing. Other than that definately a fine keyboard
