Excellent chair. Good features
Went to Staples and they didn’t have any of these in stock and I wanted this chair because it felt durable, looked nice. And the arms fold up so it fits under my desk. The best deal was. If I bought 2 the price was significantly reduced. I’m super happy with this purchase.

Cheap materials Do not buy
Terrible. My girlfriend got me this chair for Christmas and I was excited to put it together. However the chair is missing screws. And the screws it does come with don’t fit. Out of the box pieces were falling off. I would not recommend this at all.

It just snapped.
So I did not buy this chair, my husband did 2, maybe 2 and a half years ago. He leans back a bit but not hard enough to cause this. There was what looks like a plastic panel holding the back of the chair to the bottom (I haven’t looked super closely) that just snapped like a pencil. I even felt the rigid edge of broken plastic when I was initially picking it up to help my husband lean back up since he nearly fell and kicked under his desk over this. I have seen some other reviews about the structure of this chair too. It was comfortable but nowhere near worth that much and did not last anywhere near long enough to say it was even worth it.

Height adjustment cylinder
Stay away from this chair. I have one that is two years old and in the last two months the cylinder looses pressure and the chair settles. It does this every 5-10 minutes and will continue to do this until it bottoms out or I stand up and readjust the height. Initial quality is good. Long term quality is terrible.

Good for a short time not a long
So I got this chair soon after moving into a new place and needed one for the office. Now in the early stages it was great for both gaming and office use. About a year later of regular usage, the chair became super uncomfortable to work in as it can’t sit up straight anymore and it’s consistently tilted to the left. Typically you want an office chair that sits up straight when you don’t have recline turned on. Good quality stuff sits up straight and reclines when you adjust to do so. I do typically lean/recline when gaming so it could be on me, but again if it was better quality it wouldn’t matter, if a chair is adjusted to sit upright(for office use) it shouldn’t lean back when you are sitting on it. Will be replacing this one soon.

Poorly designed, everything screwed to thin plywood.
My sister gave me her Emerge Vortex because it is tilted funny and she thought maybe I could fix it.I tightened all the screws and it didn’t help. It turns out it’s titled because the whole back is held onto the seat by 2 screws that go into the edges of the seat, which is supported by just a thin piece of plywood. The same thin plywood that screws to the metal part of the chair… Not very sturdy.This entirety of this chair is held and supported up by a 2ft x 2ft piece of 5/8″ plywood.With the tilt lock engaged, if you lean back you can feel the plywood sear support bend because your upper body pushes on the back support which is connected to the edges of the seat support. Quality gaming chairs have thicker wood, and the back support is attached to the metal under the seat and not the seat itself.This chair is junk, especially if you’re anywhere close to the 275lb limit. It gives me anxiety just sitting in it… Is this the time when that thin plywood is going to snap?? 😂Photo is level, you can see the chair tilts.
