Questions & Answers
How fast does Roto VR Explorer turn?
Top speed is 21 RPM. Look & turn is designed to be a smooth experience, so it purposely doesn’t jolt you from side to side. Racing games will be able to jolt you from side to side – Roto updates every 200ms, so it can get pretty intense.
How much cleared space do I need when playing on Roto?
The Roto VR Explorer base is 76cm (30 inches) in diameter, which is the same as a regular swivel chair, but users swing their arms so we recommend an additional 1m space around the chair for safety.
What games does Roto VR Explorer support?
Roto supports and enhances all games out of the box, but obviously a small percentage of games are designed to be played standing only. Racing and flying games are the only tricky genres, because our Look & Turn technology doesn’t make so much sense, so we are promoting our SDK (software development kit) to developers so they can turn the chair to match their in-game vehicles. We also have some exciting news to share (soon) about PCVR racing and flying games.
Which VR headsets does Roto VR Explorer support?
We have partnered with Meta to deliver the optimum experience with the Meta Quest line of products. Additionally, Roto VR Explorer supports all other all-in-one headsets such as Vive XR Elite, Pico Neo 3 and soon Apple Vision pro. PCVR support is coming soon with the upcoming launch of our PC Advanced Cable Magazine, which allows for USB connectivity through the chair. Unfortunately, some headsets are difficult or impossible to support, such as PSVR 1&2, Varjo, Pimax (PC version), Oculus-S, Reverb G2. Lastly, some legacy headsets are possible to support, but are not a priority currently, which include HTC Vive and Valve Index.
Does Roto VR Explorer need power?
Yes, we supply a switch mode power supply: input 110V-240V, output 19V 9Amps, 220W.

Best experience for vr
This really surprised me when I got everything working customer service is amazing so helpful it took me a minute to figure everything out but Elliot and his team are so helpful you can really tell they care about their products and most importantly they’re customers, the rumble really surprised me at how strong it is which is really cool but you can adjust it if you find it to strong, the rotation is really quick but you can adjust if you don’t want it to fast but I like the fast setting, overall I’m very pleased with Roto VR and how much care they put into everything they do

Not what I expected
I had high hopes for this machine and looked at YouTube reviews as well, but in the end thos thing doesn’t deliver. The machine jerks and gave me motion sickness. The base has difficulty turning exactly right, which means you find yourself rotating in the chair .

Not quite ready for prime time
I wanted to like this, but it just kept disconnecting about every 15 minutes so I sent it back
Game changer for real. I won’t drink without it.,Definitely works as advertised. –
The only way I will ever play VR ever again!!!
This was the best VR experience I have ever had. I was able to fully immerse myself using this product into the VR world like never before. I also was able to avoid getting motion sickness. Pro tip. cover the sensors on the wheel arms with tape or something. This way the chair doesn’t cut off when you’re using it or just start spinning. I won’t VR without this chair. I also loved the haptic feedback in the chair. It paired perfectly with my current haptic suit and again…… Just wow!!!! This is what I always wanted VR to be like. Get one and tell me I am wrong.

Cover on legs of chair are can cause chair to freeze!
Assembly is straight forward. The cover lies flush with the base of chair but has a tendency to confuse the chair sensors and stop the chair during game play. Very annoying. On games… I discovered rollercoaster games on a whole other level. Since the chair rotates it’s like riding a tilt-a-whirl on steroids. Great for shooting targets.Overall… I wouldn’t recommend the chair for the price even though it’s well made. The rumble box is annoying and if you live in an apartment the neighbors will complain because the rumbling transfers to the floor even with carpeting… LOUDLYNo, I haven’t talked to the company but soon will. They have an excellent reviews.

Not working for long

just use a swivel PC chair – Tracker times out, no companion app, ineffective customer service
One shining star for potential.MAJOR FUNCTIONALITY ISSUES – just get a PC swivel chair for $10 and use your feet until they fix all of this, then let’s all try again:1. The head tracker will shut off within just a few minutes. If you’re not constantly moving your head, expect your gaming experience to be interrupted. Straight up – kills it.2. In order to get the tracker to connect back to the chair you have to push the button again and wait for the beep confirmation. So it can connect without you having to look at it however many times the connection is not seamless. You will have to take your headset off to look at the tracker and figure out why it’s not connecting back to the chair.3. The turning functionality as it is natively already takes you out of the experience. So using a basic swivel chair wouldn’t be much different. Make a note: You have to have the tracker on the front of the VR set closer to your forehead or the turning is completely wonky- more than it is natively. I did not see this stated in the instructions.4. There is no way to adjust the sensitivity settings on this – or the timeout settings as described above for that matter. If you turn your head to just look slightly around in the environment, expect to be abruptly rotated in that direction. That is what the chair is for, so I understand that. However the lack of a companion app that allows me to adjust sensitivity is a killer for me. It depends on what I am doing inside VR – Sometimes I want that abruptness – in combat games for example. Other times I want to just be able to turn my head SLIGHTLY to experience the environment – like in TRIPP – and not have my stomach hit the bottom of my brain.Just use a swivel chair until they fix all of this. There is potential.DELIVERY ISSUES5. 1. The company website allowed for this to be delivered to a PO Box. I got a call from FedEx very early in the morning asking for a physical address. I don’t have one available to me, which is why I give a PO Box. This is very basic website programming that they could restrict. They will tell you that this is your fault and that you should have known. Which is insulting honestly because they know there is no way someone could possibly know that. The carrier called me very early in the morning and asked for a physical address, which I did not have available to me. When I contacted the company after finally getting the chair – this was all my fault. It’s important to make the distinction between “effective” and “friendly” customer service. So while it is accurate that they are friendly, they are not effective.

The chair comes ready to be built with very easy, clear and concise instructions, not even my Mrs could get it wrong. On first set up it was very easy to use, and again, easy to follow instructions. It takes a bit of getting used to, because previous to this, I used a swivel bar stool, now this does it all for me with a turn of the head. I’ve found that positioning of the head tracker is more important than first expected, as I would turn fast one way and slow the other. But its just a case of altering the position and away you go. The only down side for me is the seat pad, it looks more comfier than it is, so I got a bit of a numb bum, but at least it will encourage me to take a break. The rumble box under the seat is a lot stronger than I imagined and it can be felt quite a lot. There is a port for continuous charging of your headset, but I’ve yet to use that. All in all, a great toy, but priced out of the reach of a lot of people at £799.00, but I’m definitely going to give this some hammer and enjoy it totally.
