I’d buy another one
It’s replaced my Retroid 4, I only play these games for nostalgia and the form factor absolutely helps with that. It’s pretty well built and so far everything seems solid, I was worried about a hinge issue but at this point I’d just buy another one if it did have that issue. (I installed another OS so that’s why my Home Screen looks different over stock)

My autistic son loves to play Old School video games and this is perfect because he can bring this anywhere with him. He loves the old classic games. Easy to charge and a fully charged battery holds up for a few hours as he plays.

Hinge Broke within 24 hours of unboxing.I think id opened and closed it maybe ten times total since removing it from the package, and loading some of my own roms. When the right hinge shot off. Not even sure what shot off, or where it went. I heard it hit the wall 10 feet away, but cant find the part. Only have a Circlip retaining clip left.Quite disappointed.

This little box is apparently quite fantastic. I didn’t realize what all it could do when I got it, but I had a 13yo over for Christmas, and he spent all day on it, raving about how awesome it was and all these different types of games it can play.

Nostalgic
I used to love old school video games when I was younger but haven’t felt drawn to it enough to invest in a full size gaming console. This handheld option was perfect for me! It is compact, has great graphics and sounds. I was overwhelmed with the sheer amount of different games on it. There are no instructions for the games so you have to wing it and just give them a try. I came across some that were in other languages and I had no idea what was going on in those. However, I was really looking for the old classics I remembered and those did not disappoint. It is definitely a pricey little game console, but for all the games you get, I think it’s worth it. It’s a fun little console you can take anywhere with you. I would recommend it.

Great device with room to grow
Out of the box there are dozens if not hundreds of games built in. But research this product number on YouTube and you’ll soon find yourself in a rabbit hole of all the software upgrades you can do, including replacing the software entirely with something like MuOS. This specific device is VERY well received by the enthusiast community so I’m fortunate to have made it my choice – BUT that said, these come out SO FAST now in all shapes and sizes, so really the big decision for you to make is which form factor are you most nostalgic for? This is obviously a DS clone but there are many, many others including ones with thumbsticks. Huge benefit to this of course is you can toss it into a bag without worrying about the screen at all.

The Anbernic RG35XXSP is any NDS fans dream-come-true. It is well made, with good, clicky-buttons and a clear IPS screen that I can see outside in indirect lighting. As well, the sound is clear, without that tin-sound you get from some inexpensive handhelds. It is very well made and comfortable to use.Charging doesn’t take more than an hour and you’ll get about 4-5 hours of play from it. It is missing SFC, FC and GB games, but has other games from other publishers and you can add whatever games you want to it.All-in-all, while not often true with these types of items, you are getting one well made device that is one I will recommend to friends and family.
