Fantastic Gateway to Nostalgic Fun
I own an old Sega Genesis from my youth. However, my controllers were not operable after years of dust build up from improper storage at my parents’ house. Now that I have kids of my own that have seen the Sonic movies, they wanted to play my old Sonic games. This Retro-Bit Official Sega Genesis Controller 6-button Arcade Pad for Sega Genesis worked perfectly. My only frustration is that I’m used to playing with the old 3-button controllers, so these felt lighter and smaller than I remember from my past. Nevertheless, great product and works with my original game consul and games.

A Legend Reborn, Rebuilt
As a seasoned retro game collector, I want to be very clear that I own many official releases of SEGA systems, games, and especially their iconic controllers. SEGA controllers have always had this nice meaty feel to them with a semi glossy/matte feel to them, a very particular halfway point. This controller by RetroBit and officially licensed by SEGA comes as close as modernly possible. The feel is almost exact as the original 6 button pads, but also deviates in texture slightly in order to suit modern needs. At first glance the controller looks identical, only appearing different in the D-Pad itself. When holding the controllers, the feel of the buttons is almost like original 6 button pads, but slightly different likely due to the age difference and quality of rubber used in the new controllers. The buttons are responsive and satisfying to press, yet new feeling at the same time. Overall, as a re-release SEGA controller, they’re fantastic. The feel accurately emulates what it would be like to own one brand new, out of an authentic retail box as well! Definitely reccomend for the casual AND hardcore SEGA Genesis fan!

I have two original Sega 6 button controllers, and a Hyperkin GN6 controller along with this – the Hyperkin feels identical to the 30 year old Sega controllers, which is to say kind of loose and squishy but authentic. The Retro-Bit controller is more firm, the buttons feel more solid and feels just better to press. Really this is what you should go with if you need a new Genesis controller.

安っぽいプラスチックの手触りの十字キーと一応十字ゴムもファイティングパッド6Bの物に入れ替え、パッドの十字キーを外した時に見える中央の膨らんだ部分の表面と裏両方にグリス塗ってようやく満足に使えるような感じになりました(普段サターンパッドでやっているメンテナンス)。ファイティングパッド6Bと比べて形は好みの問題だと思いますが、自分はこちらのジェネシスの形の方がサターンパッドくらいの幅に感じ好みです。そのままの状態で使った場合の評価は☆3。
