  1. Reviewer MHM 3-5

The best value of the 34” 21:9 OLED Panels
This monitor shares the same Samsung panel of the OLED G8, Alienware 34, MSi MEG34, but has additional I/O, including the USB-C/DP-Alt option with 90W of power delivery for productivity users. It has plenty of I/O, KVM switch, and it’s almost as elegant as the aluminum Samsung G8.If you juggle computers for work and play, want a gaming monitor that is elegant and not gharish like the Alienware and MSi, but has more functionality than the mini I/O setup of the otherwise great Samsung G8 OLED, this is a great panel for you.It has the best price ($100-$500 less than its competition), a warranty of 4 years, and still a blast to game on and pleasant to work on.My only nitpicks are :1. Blue flecks in the oversized stand making the product look a bit cheaper. This is due to Philips joining the ranks of companies that put recycled scraps of plastic in things as if it’s desirable.2. Samsung has showed us we can have Ultrawide without wide monitor stands. It would’ve been nice if Philips took a page out of the MSi, Samsung playbook and followed suit. Nearly a foot deep is far too large of a footprint for any monitor stand.3. It also seems to be ever so slightly crooked, but that may be the way it sits on my desk (the legs are so long that it rests on my desk mat). Or it could be because rather than a traditional VESA mounting plate on the stand, it has a quick release tab that means there’s some play in it. I have since replaced it with an AVLT monitor arm combined with the included VESA adapter.4. No burn in warranty (Alienware offers it, but just don’t leave your monitor on without a screensaver, lower the brightness on desktop use, and follow the pixel care prompts)5. If you’re a console gamer, you’ll be limited to 100 hz. 175 hz, FreeSync Pro is only supported over DP, USB-C.To recap, of the 21:9 1440p QD OLEDs, this will provide you the same or more I/O features of all its brethren, and at a lower price. $776-$799 tends to be the window for this unit, and for that you’re getting:1. 1440p Ultrawide format2. DP, HDMI, USB-C/DP-Alt w/ 90W PD3. Several USB-A ports, USB-B port4. 175hz refresh paired with a 0.1ms response time.5. G-SYNC, FreeSync compatible6. Nearly perfect motion clarity, vibrant colors, deep blacksAt a lower price than all its competitors and more features than the Alienware DW, DWF (the darlings of this segment thanks to content creators like LTT). As far as I’m concerned, that makes this the best of the lot.

    First Impression
This is my initial review, as this is a very recent purchase, but I did want to address some things mentioned in other reviews that gave me pause. It was packaged well. Like any other monitor I have ever opened. I feel like that packaging is pretty standard. It did come with a protective film, so if that is missing I would definitely return it. You probably didn’t receive a new unit. The screen was perfect with no scratches or pixel issues at start. The stand felt of decent quality. It’s a metal base with a plastic cover over it. What I really like is how sensitive the swivel is and how smooth the up and down adjustment is. I am sure there are nicer stands, but there are certainly much cheaper stands and this one does the job and looks nice. I also like the added touch of having a headphone hanger. I didn’t notice that in the listing.I am not an OLED expert, but I can say this one is very bright, so if that is a concern for you, I wouldn’t be worried. The color accuracy out of the box is great. Which is nice for me since I am on a console. I do have a work laptop I can use to adjust it, but it’s great not to need to. It’s giving the max specs for a PS5 which is nice. It’s so strange how few monitors have that 2.1 HDMI port. I paid $549 for mine and at that price it seems very competitive! I don’t know about the MSRP though, seems a little high.

Beautiful monitor, awful packing and customer support
I want to start out by saying this Samsung qd oled panel is incredible, the colors are amazing, the contrast is insane. But, you get what you pay for when it comes to customer support, there’s a reason this is the cheapest qd oled.My unit arrived in a cardboard shell inside the box with no screen protector film just a foam cover over the monitor. After inspecting the monitor I noticed scratches on the top right of the screen. It almost looks like the foam was too abrasive for the fragile qd oled panel and with no protective film it got scratched.I contacted Amazon first and they only offer a standard return for the product with a 30 day refund period. I then contacted Phillips and they told me they wouldn’t honor the 4 year advanced warranty on the product page “because it wasn’t a factory defect” and told me “you’d be better off talking to Amazon about it”. If they fail to honor their 4 year warranty 4 days in, I doubt they’re protecting you from burn in a year or two from now. I am returning the monitor today, I just wanted a replacement but Amazon nor Philips offer that even though it’s clearly stated on the product page and in Philips documentation.TLDR: I had scratches on my brand new $650 monitor and wanted a replacement not a refund but no one honors the 4 year advanced warranty. So I was forced to return it and order an MSI oled for $100 more with the same panel.

    Solid gaming and productivity
I was worried about the text quality for productivity, but on a Mac the text rendering is solid. Sure, it’s not retina but it’s pleasant to read.Obviously superb for media consumption and gaming. This monitor replaces an old Samsung G9 and it’s literal night and day. The visual quality is great, built in speakers are good enough and the connectivity is superb. Firmware is adequate too.I’m gonna give it five stars – if I really wanted to quibble the firmware could be a little nicer but at the end of the day it works and it works well.

Better display than the samsung g8 34″ oled that I returned. Although the build quality is a little better on the samsung.

El bendito burn in.

Picked this up on a Black Friday sale. I was worried that a 34 inch ultra wide would be too big, but it’s perfect. And the picture qualtiy is so sharp and crisp its like warm butter for the eyes.I’ve tried out a bunch of different games such as WarThunder, Cyberpunk 2077, Icarus, and HellDivers 2. Didn’t see any ghosting and everything looked awesome, both with HDR enabled and disabled. There are a couple things that I have to mention i’m a bit critical on. The first is the pixel refresh which is pretty annoying at times. You’ll be in the middle of a game or watching a movie and it pops up. The most annoying time is when I shut off my computer and it pops up and won’t let me turn off the monitor. It takes about a minute for it to finally turn off.The second is the off button. It can’t make up its mind if you just push the center in or push the center and and push down. Or push and hold for a few seconds.Other then that which is annoying but minor, it’s been a great monitor. And if you see it on sale don’t hesitate grab it.

This is my first HDR OLED, very happy.Picture quality is amazing, dark darks and bright brights. Feels sturdy and a great entry level to get into OLED.The ambiglow does not work with HDR, and it’s a bit gimmicky anyway I just turned mine off.
