  1. Amazon Reviewer

Amazing Phone. Truly Flagship Grade. Problem with Packaging.
Received this phone today, so I haven’t had it in my hands all that long. With that being said, from what I’ve experienced so far, this phone is truly competing with the best of the best.Pros:1. The screen is gorgeous and pops with inky vibrant colors and deep blacks. It’s also capable of up to 165 hz refresh which is top notch. Everything is fluid and I really couldn’t ask for more. The display also goes up to 1,300 nits, so it should be visible in direct sunlight.2. The camera takes very nice photos that are compete with other flagships. The camera setup is versatile with a 50 MP OIS main camera, 50 MP ultra wide and a 12 megapixel 2X telephoto lens. Very happy with these cameras. I have not had a chance to test them in low light or take much video though.3. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and 8GB ram make performance as quick as it gets. There is no perceivable lag when moving around the phone or doing tasks in apps.4. The build quality feels amazing in hand. It definitely feels solidly put together. The back of the phone is gorilla glass, but the sandblasted texture feels great in hand and prevents smudges.5. Charging speed is one of the things that blew me away the most about this phone! It’s amazing. It charges seriously fast at up to 68 watts when using the included adapter, and doesn’t get too hot while doing so either. I charged from 20 percent to 80 percent in 21.5 minutes. From 20 percent to 50 percent it only took 9 minutes. Not sure how this will impact battery longevity in several years, but Motorola does give you the option to turn it off. The Phone is capable of 15 watt wireless charging too, which is a nice touch. Be aware that this phone does not contain MagSafe magnets like iPhone. You’ll have to buy a case for that feature.Cons:1. The update support is not as long as other competitors. Motorola promised 3 years of OS updates and a total of 4 years of security patches. So in total that’s 4 years of keeping the phone secured. Samsung and Google have longer update policies that beat this number. As this phone was officially released in May of 2023, it’s already been out for over 1.5 years as of this review. It should still receive updates at least until Mid-2027. That was long enough to make me feel ok buying it. But I’d consider your needs before purchasing.2. There are some preloaded apps. But every phone except iPhone or Pixel does this. Luckily they can be uninstalled or disabled.3. When I took the phone out of the box, I had to spend 1-2 hours applying all of the updates. The phone was nowhere near updated to the latest OS or security patches. That was a pain. But some other phones have this issue too.4. Probably the biggest con (and maybe specific to Amazon). The security seal sticker on the retail box was already broken when I received the phone. I ordered item shipped and sold by Amazon and double checked to make sure. I was very irritated when I first realized this. However, it seems I’m not the only one who’s had this issue. Upon inspecting the device and the rest of the box, it seems like it was never used or altered. But it still leaves a bad taste in the mouth for someone buying a phone listed as being Brand new. I think what might have happened is the sticker ripped apart during shipping and handling. It’s a very thin security sticker that feels more like tissue paper where the seal was broken. Still, I’m very disappointed Amazon would be selling new units with a defective seal. I’m considering returning and buying this phone at another retailer due to the issue.Overall, I think this is a wonderful flagship level device from Motorola. There is really nothing I’ve discovered that I don’t like (aside from the issue with the packaging). For the sale price I paid of $400 unlocked, I think it’s truly an amazing value. I highly recommend this device. My advice would perhaps be to buy the phone at a physical retail store and inspect the packaging before purchasing. Amazon should be made aware that these phone boxes were either previously opened or manufactured with defective seals.

    Nice smartphone
The Edge is my 4th or 5th Motorola phone and all of the phones lasted two years or more. I’ve had the 2024 Edge for over a year with no problems. It is the best Motorola smartphone yet as it has plenty of processing power to run lots of apps and to “surf the web”. Motorola doesn’t add lots of bloatware, so it’s just pure Android. It works well and doesn’t require a lot of maintenance, so I would highly recommend.

    Solid Phone
What I like about the phone-Beautiful P-OLED screen, 165hz refresh that you can select as default (not all apps support)-Curved display is not as bad as other curved displays-UFS 4.0, 512GB storage, outstanding chipset (benchmarks higher than pixel 9 Pro XL)-Lightweight, gorilla glass victus, IP 68 rated.-Thinkshield data security-Camera’s are good.-Stock Android-Fast Charging, and the charging brick is actually included. What I do not like-Motorola’s update policy, will get Android 15 at some point, security patches are bi-monthly, slated to get Android 16 but Motorola has broken their own policy in the past.-Camera not as good as Pixel series (not an issue for me)-No always on display, Peek display does not seem to come on as often as my old Motorola and no longer is there any settings for peek display under display settings-Curved display, Motorola went to flat in 2022 they should have stayed with it.I really like Motorola’s, had a oneplus 12R that fried after water ingestion (so much for the IP rating), and I am overall happier with this phone. Outstanding design and durability, just some minor issues I will see how Android 15 works out on the phone, but for the price you cannot do better and this phone will perform well for the next few years. I will admit this will be an interim phone while I Ponder if Motorola brings their flagship over to the States this year or at some point the Oneplus 13.-

    A Hidden Gem
Wow what a hidden gem! Snapdragon 8 gen 1, 144 speed, 256/8 gig storage/memory, gorilla glass, water, freeze and dust resistance for 30 minutes, comes with 4 years support, comes with protective case, ( I spent extra for tempered glass protector). A lot of securities that Motorola gives is a plus. Also fast charging included. Fast connections is a plus. It was very easy to set up and the quality of the picture is excellent.
