Answer to prayer – it is!
I know my headline is dramatic, but if you have constant ear issues like me, this will be an answer to prayer for you, too. I wish earbuds and conduction headphones worked, but it turns out I have some sort of contact dermatitis and I get plagued with ear infections/dermatitis issues that are so slow to heal. It took me about 2 years of ENT visits to figure out what was causing the problem in the first place (Samsung earbuds, I’m looking at you). I do have sensitivity to latex that might contribute to all this. One of the worst situations was the conduction headphones that sat on top of my ear. Man, I was so excited to make those work. But the skin behind my ear became completely messed up – weeping ooze and all for a couple weeks (I knew immediately that the headphones were the cause and did not wear them again). (Incidentally something like Airpods gen 2 are okay for me since they don’t sit in the ear canal – but do create a bit of itch. I reserve those for airplanes and the gym. I can’t wear them for super long. Plus – they fall out! Ugh.) Anyway, now that we’ve established all those great things and the history you didn’t ask for…This sound device is amazing. I’m giving it 5 stars, but there are some pros and cons to consider.Pros:-Amazing sound compared to all earbuds/headphones I’ve ever owned except Bose headphones. (But Bose headphones are hot, no air flow, and irritate my ear skin, believe it or not.)-Pairs immediately.-Works perfectly and a normal range for Bluetooth.-Easy to use buttons to pause, skip, volume, power. One of the best designs for buttons I’ve seen as they are well-spaced apart. While my fat fingers cannot tell the shapes on top of the buttons, I can at least count to find the one I need.-Seems to hold charge well. Still new with it, but so far so good.-Great for: gardening, organizing projects in your home where you have to move around a lot, cleaning your house (on one level, anyway), painting (just don’t touch the buttons with painty fingies), sitting outside, going on walks where there are not tons of peopleCons:-Cannot connect to multiple devices at once. I wish this was able to connect to both my PC and phone. That would be ahhhhmazing. I use both all day. I’d love to have it always connected to my phone so I could answer with this and also play sound from a video on my PC. Sad face.-Super loud when it turns on or powers down after being dormant as just about everyone has commented. ***DISCOVERING!!!!! YOUR DEVICE IS CONNECTED!!!!!!*** ***GOODBYE!!!!!!*** Ack. Stop yelling. I don’t mind at all that it shuts off – turning back on is simple. But it’s so loud, plus there’s a vibration effect with the sound.-It starts up with FULL VOLUME each time. I wish it remembered the previous sound setting. It really should. This is a massive oversight. While I don’t mind that it shuts down to conserve battery, it is HIGHLY annoying to keep adjusting the volume back down.-I can get a bit of a headache with it – I think it’s a matter of getting used to the sound. Since it does vibrate a bit, that might be the cause. I have to keep volume low. I’m willing and able to keep working through this.-I wish the Bluetooth range were just a bit longer. My main distance of travel is between my PC and bathroom. It does slightly better than other Bluetooth devices, but just by a tiny bit. I wish it could go a bit further. It’s just across my basement. Obviously, you know what that is from my excellent description. Ok – around 20-25 feet from office chair to toilet. It starts losing connection around that point. BUT the solution would be to get a Bluetooth booster – at least for my PC. So this isn’t really a con. I’m just poor at the moment and also I’ve run out of USB connections so I’d also need to get a hub.-Maybe this is obvious, but this is not for use in airplanes or at the gym. Others would be able to hear it and you would be “that person” and people would glare at you. Don’t do that. This is not really a con for me as I understood this.So there you have it. Was that helpful? Let me know if it was. 👍🏽

Quality, Comfort & Superior to ear buds / headphones
The Monster speaker system is outstanding in sound quality and comfort to use. The only additional function which I would suggest is a pause button to disable the unit for a period of time other than that It is superior to ear buds and headphones.I would like the company to consider making a larger unit which could be placed on the back rest of a recliner etc. with a subwoofer incorporated therein.

Better than expected for the most part, but bass is weak
I am not an audiophile but very into hi-fi (B&W speakers, duo subs, with Hegel amp at home, Burmester in car and Bose QC3 for travel). I watched quite a few reviews before decided on this one.Initial Impression:Just received it today, charged up to full in about an hour. (the unit might partially charged when arrival). Pairing with iPhone is easy and quick. Wearing is comfortable, but not sure I can wear it stable enough when golfing. Looks very nice, but I expect the gold rings color will fade away after some use, let’s see. The speaker works much better indoor, or in a quiet place. (I might speak to the obvious here).Sound Quality- BASS is not good as I expected but improving (see update 6), and I assume other brands can be worse. But I did expect more bass out of this. All the reviews I’ve seen seems suggest this one is better than others (like Sony, maybe even Boss), but compare with my Boss QC3 headset, there is no bass to show. The speaker somehow does a little vibration when play bass heavy content, so it is funny that you feel it but can’t hear it 🙂 For normal content with less bass, the sound is fine. Also, the sound/bass seems shifting all the time. Other review mentioned some sort of aggressive build-in filter. I am not knowledgeable enough to comment. I haven’t try equalizer app. For small, less power driven speakers like this, I might asking too much.- Mid/Highs, vocals, male and female, are great. Very clear. I guess that is as good as you can get out of any neckband speaker.- surprisingly good for Classical music. Piano sounds full and powerful. String music is nicely detailed. Even orchestra sounds satisfying. This is totally unexpected, because Piano is the most difficult to sound right!Don’t have enough hours to see other aspects. Will update if something worthy comes up.Update 1 after a few days – tried the Spotify equalizer as others recommended, and the vibration is reduced, but bass is still very weak if there is any. It seems like a failed engineering where all the effort to boost bass turned into vibration of speaker, rather than low frequency sound, and damaging the mid and hi. Lowered to 3-star, and start considering return.Update 2 – tried in golf course, and it is a bad idea. It will fall off when you swing, and it can easily mess up your swing too.Update 3 – the battery died on the 7th day, average daily use is about 45min, WAY SHORT than 12 hours play time advertised.Update 4 – after the 2nd full charge to the battery, it does seem to last around 12 hours. So I assume my first charge is not really a full charge. Also, I kind of used to the weak bass now, so move the overall rating back to 4-star, and decide to keep this one. However, the problem other people reported still hold true: The bass is indeed very weak. If you don’t use equalizer to turn down the bass, the other frequency sound will be affected when heavy base note hits. Equalizer will stabilize the music, but will NOT enhance the bass that is not there.Update 5 – I also agree with other reviewers that the voice command is annoying, and the startup volume is embarrassingly high. However, the overall sound quality is decent, and walking around with it is a good choice.Update 6 – using it for 5 months now, and the base seems improving and acceptable now! It seems the speaker need some break in period like the regular speakers.

Monster Boomerang neckband is not worth and has lots of connectivity and functional issues. I would not recommend to any one.

Inget för musik, stereo ljudet svajar, irriterande. Startar inte diskret utan altid med med halva ljudstyrka och det går inte justera ljudet i förväg. Till ljudböcker och podcast fungerar någorlunda bra.

Very good value for the price!Upon receiving the Boomerang I was impressed with how it was packaged, the heavy gauge box and printing on the outside is very much in line with higher end audio manufacturers. The Boomerang is pretty much as described, the sound quality is quite good although not as good as the Bose but for 25% of the cost of the Bose they are excellent. Probably why the Bose is no longer available, it was just too expensive for this niche market. The Boomerang has a decent level of bass at higher volumes particularly with songs that have heavier bass levels. It is also very good on phone calls as I have heard from people on the other end of a call that my voice is coming through clear and sharp, having said that you will have to keep the Boomerang volume at a lower level to prevent the other party from hearing an echo of their own voice. It is smaller and lighter than the Bose although it does tend to spin around on your neck with excessive movement but it fits close enough to sit nicely inside a jacket collar. The battery does last a very long time and I have used it outdoors below 0°C and it lasted the whole day without having to recharge. It would be nice if Monster could add an audible battery percentage on powering up the Boomerang though. I like that it is IPX7 rated and the charge port is USB C, unlike the Bose which I believe is micro USB. The controls are tactile and easy to find and operate once you have memorized which button is which. It will turn off if you have left it on pause for several minutes in order to conserve battery power which is a nice feature. My only real criticism is that it would have been better if Monster had included a pouch or carry bag with the Boomerang as I take it everywhere. I like it so much I purchased a second one to give us a Christmas gift to my dad who is a bit hard of hearing and likes to watch YouTube and FaceTime with people on his phone with the volume cranked way up on the speaker. I’m sure this will give him much better sound quality at a far lower volume.
