Game in brand new condition and works just fine! The game itself is hit or miss.
Arrived in brand new condition! I had no problem starting the game on my PS4.As for the game itself, the campaign is short and there’s a long endgame grind after the story. It’s enjoyable but the grind at the end is not for everyone. Also, this game has a free PS5 upgrade as long as you keep the disc inside the PS5!

Avengers is not the Mcu but it’s own universe that takes some calls from a bit of everything
Avengers is not gonna win game of the year awards or even awards for being best of its category (live/ongoing service multiplayer game) but it will tickle the marvel fan in you at points and you can have fun solo or with others. The storyline :After a short prologue where the story pieces are set, you mostly play Kamala Khan during a 8 to 12 hour campaign where you try to reunite the Avengers against the Forces of Modok and AIM after a tragedy that made “Inhumans” appear all over the world. for anyone who knows either film endgame or the comic Reassembled, it’s basically that but if Kamala was the catalyst for everyone to come back together. it won’t win awards nor is it utter trash, it’s just servicable.Characters:As of 9/20 there are 6 playable characters; Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, Bruce Banner/The Savage Hulk (aka “Hulk smash” hulk), Tony Stark aka Iron man, Natasha Romanov aka Black Widow, Thor Odinson and Steve Rogers as Captian America. they each play notably different with Tony & Natasha being all about their mobility, Hulk and Thor about tearing stuff up with Thor being ranged due to throwing Mjlnoir’s and lightning attacks & Kamala along side Cap being mix of both previous categories. each comes with a special modifier that allows them to tank/avoid damage, deal more damage or regenerate health. by the holidays they plan to add Two versions of the character Hawkeye, Clint Barton, the classic older white guy & Kate Bishop, a younger female character who has mostly been in the comics do far with a few animated appearances & supposedly going to star in the upcoming TV show. There’s also several other characters planned, including Black Panther and several other characters.Gameplay:third person action game in the vein of something like God of War or Devil May cry, just not as technical as the latter or brutal as the former. Everything is split into missions that are anything from 5 to 10 minute brawls to 45 minute story missions, as said in the character section each character Plays differently but at the same time they had to balance that especially for coop play so some abilities like Hulk’s ability to jump for miles or Tony & Thor’s super sonic flights are toned down to be just a bit quicker than the average run speed of Captian America. They also had to balance the stenght so don’t expect to to one shot enemies if everyone is at the same gear level. which is a big thing in this game, gear, while it doesn’t make sense for someone like Hulk to have gear, they try to fudge that a bit by having his stuff be implants. much like a game such as destiny they total up your gear average to give you a secondary level from your character’s level, like I personally ended the game with a level 40 hulk who had Gwar level of 85. whatever your gear level you start equipped with off the level at is what your enemies are balanced around. I’ve found that I can exploit this by purposefully wearing gear that isn’t my strongest than switching to my strongest gear and having an easier time even on the harder difficulties and repeating that cycle with the gear I obtained on that level. in coop play if you match with someone who is notably weaker gear, it will balance more toward their favor, meaning you could possibly cake walk through the mission, sometimes one shoting the hordes of enemies. this may be resolved later but for right now know that is a possibility.Post game:After you beat the main game campaign, you’ll be invited to check out the “Avengers Intitiave” content, these are harder missions sometimes using elements from the story as reasoning why these situations are occurring, with clone characters of bosses you’ve fought and secret enemy bases. the missions may feel repeative grinding, but with friends it can be fun to mess around, or experiment with a character or set of characters your group hasn’t played before.Microtransactions:There are microtrancations in the game, but if you use them is 100% optional and all are mainly for cosmetics with some minor “booster packs” of resources to use to upgrade gear. all content available via Microtrancations can be unlocked via completing daily and weekly challenges for each character currently on roster to unlock their character cards’ perks . if you complete all of them you will get a little over the equal of 60 usd in premium currency as each have 10 USD of premium currency earnable. I’d suggest holding on to that as each dlc character while free will need the premium currency to unlock their character card but if you complete their character card you can then get all or that back. so you can technically get all character cards unlocked for dlc just by playing more. however of that’s a turn off for you, I understand.inside baseball:For Marvel comics fans, this universe has touches of Mcu but feels much more like the Ultimate Marvel universe done in 2019/2020, the Inhumans seen aren’t the royal family but the “Nuhumans” and the Avengers have seemingly been around for about 5 10 years when the story starts. Modok is much more evil Steve Woz than the mad scientist of 616 & its got the political undercurrent of Authoritian safety vs unchecked freedom. Monica Rappacini pops up as a fling Bruce had, Hank is active as a hero but can’t use his powers or it’d kill him and Captian Marvel(Carol) is said to an avenger just off planet. it’s overall a hodgepodge of avengers greatest hits for fans of the comics and mcu.I can’t give this a 5/5 in good faith due to the micros being the and some gameplay glitches that happen where AI team mates hang up as well as one horrible noise glitch but 4/5 is suitable, I’d say wait until black Friday when it’s a few bucks off or possibly half off in some places.
Never received it! They scam artists! Amazon needs to investigate. –

Disappointment, Thy Name is Avengers on PS4
I have gotten to points in this game where I thought I was hitting the groove and starting to enjoy myself and this game found a way to destroy that every single time. It’s just incomplete in almost every way. Except the voice acting. They are universally great. I love the story and really dig that part of it. Everything else needs LOTS of work. The biggest positive is Ms. Marvel. Not only is her story great and well acted, she’s easily the most well-balanced character in combat. I’ve leveled her up twice that if anyone else because it’s just so much more fun to play as her than anyone else. She was the perfect choice of a main character.Onto the negatives. The most important part of a game like this is the combat and that is wildly uneven. Just starting from a logical standpoint, it takes Widow and Hulk the same number of hits to take out an average bad guy? And said average bad guy, if he’s mid-punch, will overrule THE HULK who is mid-punch? They just did not make the characters (aside from Kamala) unique enough. Shields should he useless against the Hulk. Having to dodge a tiny robot as the Hulk feels beyond silly.Like many games this uses a system where an indicator will flash before an enemy attacks so you can dodge or counter. That is horribly imbalanced too. It seems to sometimes work and sometimes not. It is hard to time. If you press dodge too early, even when the indicator for an attack is there, you move but still get hit.And the sheer chaos of the combat is not fun. Reign it in. You get absolutely rat eff’d over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over in this game. The number of times I rage quit after bouncing from a bomb to a punch to a bomb and dying without getting to make a single move was almost comical. And I played on easy. Shouldn’t it be, ya know, kinda easy? Some levels are fun and playable. Others will see you die within minutes even though they are the same difficulty. Wildly uneven. The enemy types are also quite annoying. If you get a flying villain with a shield but you didn’t pick a flyer then you’re eff’d. They’ll just sit up there and snipe you to death. There’s shockingly little you can do about it. One of the people on your team might be a flyer but they won’t fly up there and do anything. And you certainly can’t swap between your team members as you need to. That’d be silly. Also, do you like load screens and watching video game charters loiter around, maybe do some light calisthenics? Then, golly-bob-howdy, is this gonna be a five star game for you! You’ll be watching gobs and gobs of load screens and they seemingly went out of their way to make them aggressively boring. But at least you get time to stare at the bad character design. Seriously, Cap’s outfit is laughably bad. There’s also way too much going on. There is so much gear and power ups and nonsense that is such a blatant money grab it’s gross. The main campaign is super short and I’m guessing that’s because they want you to spend time on side quests where you need to buy gear in order to participate. There are daily tasks, for example, but are they matched to your current power level? Nope. The game’s been out a week but I need to be at level 50 in order to even consider doing a daily mission or I’ll die instantly. So you need to buy gear and power-ups galore to keep playing past the main campaign which you’ll knock out in a couple days if you really stretch it out. Cool.If this had not been an Avengers game but just a Ms. Marvel game then it could have focused more and been better. Trying to jam in so many differently powered characters doesn’t work. It’s almost an impossible task so bless their hearts for trying. If you’re a Marvel fan, wait for this thing’s price to drop and allow your expectations to do the same. As others have mentioned, this is buggy so waiting will also give them time to hammer that out because this thing was in no way, shape or form ready to ship and will need a million patches in the opening months.
