Great mount!
I’ve attached to my bathroom counter. It keeps my phone out of the water, hands free and within reach. Also consider attaching to the mirror.

Love this holder!!
I love this holder. I’ve never had a problem with the magnet not being strong enough. I don’t have the huge phone mines probably medium size. I have the iPhone 11 not the extra large and it works great but I used to have a larger one and it worked great on that one too I don’t know why people are saying that the magnet isn’t good I’ve never had a problem with it. The only issue I’ve had is in the hot summertime after about a year or a year and a half that sticky part on the back of the suction cup does kind of wear out and I have to replace it, but I’m fine with that. It’s worth it to me. I’ve have bought this holder several times but I will not change to a different brand. I would not expect for that sticky part in the back of the suction cup to last a lifetime with 110° summers. It’s just common sense. I’m sure any brand would wear out after a while.

Everyone who drives with their smartphone should have one
This is a great piece of equipment for ANYONE who drives with a cellphone so they don’t have to hold their phone while driving. It also positions the phone when using a GPS app better than most cars’ built-in GPS screens because it can be positioned anywhere on the windshield so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road to check the GPS info.Previously, I had a mechanical gripping phone holder with the same suction cup-flex neck design but the gripping mechanism broke easily and the foam, which held the phone so it didn’t slip out of the “grippers”, after about 1 yr in the sun, heat and cold, lost its ability to retain the phone so that eventually, the phone would slide out of the mechanism. The magnet on this unit is strong enough to hold the phone to the windshield mount without risk of the phone falling but it’s easy to remove the phone, not by pulling straight towards yourself, but by sliding the phone horizontally or vertically without first retracting a gripping mechanism. This means it’s easier and faster to exit the car or to mount the phone on the system. When you use it as a hands-free, again, you can see the screen without having to take your eyes off the road.I had purchased a magnetic system previously that mounted to the air vent and it worked great in the rental car I was driving for a long trip. However, when I tried to use it in my own car, a Honda Civic, the design of the vent-mounted system had no adjustment so the angle of the vent slats would angle the phone face away from me at 45 degrees. To top it off, nearly always there was a reflection that made it impossible to see the screen clearly. After one try, I knew I couldn’t use that vent-mounted magnetic system in my own car. With this new device, at first, I was a little concerned about the rigidity of the flexible neck but it can be reformed so that the phone is in an optimal position for use. Unlike some systems, it doesn’t bounce or deform on bumpy roads so it’s easier to read the display with a minimum of eye fatigue. The design of the mechanism also allows rotation of the phone to any position depending on whether you prefer a landscape or portrait orientation of your GPS display. Finally, the suction cup is not just dependent on the rubber cup being suctioned to the glass, but there is a sticky surface that seems embedded in the suction cup that also keeps the suction cup from pulling away from the glass. I haven’t had this long enough in hot weather to see if it stays up longer (that’s usually when the suction cup fails to hold as the car sits in the hot sun), but I anticipate that it should be better than a “standard” suction cup.So far, I love this device since there are many ways I can prevent reflections on the screen that obstruct view of whatever you are viewing. At the same time, I never have to drive holding my phone, so I’m never violating a “hands-free” law. Just for the record, I never talk on my phone in areas where laws prevent ANY phone usage, hands-free or not.To be clear, the kit comes with a dash-mount but I have not tried this since the finish on my dash is pebbled or grainy so I don’t know how long or firmly the system will “hold” in such an arrangement.

I just don’t want it UP on dash where it might obstruct view of road yet easily viewable. Hence my desire for a VERY flexible ..
This holder is for Samsung Galaxy S4 in my 2008 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. The dash slopes quickly, has a big center dashboard and I have a very specific preference for the location of my phone once mounted. I want it lower then the bottom of windshield and almost behind steering wheel. I just don’t want it UP on dash where it might obstruct view of road yet easily viewable. Hence my desire for a VERY flexible mount. This device with its claims of long arm (almost 10-12″) and strong suction all lived up to description. Picture my pickup bouncing hard down the road. The suction? Holds fast, never falls off. The flexible arm is like a Gumby. I was able to bend it 45° right out of suction mount. Then a slight slope following dash contour. Then another 45° bend up this time to place phone right in front of leading edge of dash above radio. Finally a turn to the left toward steering column to put the phone centered on front edge of dash and JUST a bit behind steering wheel at 3 o’clock position. This took 20 minutes and multiple repositioning. All that time of off and on, the suction was tight each time I stuck it on and took it off (6 to 8 times?). The shaft itself was as I said VERY flexible but also stiff enough to hold shape firmly after all that bending this way and that until happy. Finally the phone holder component is also above aversge. It easily grasps phone simply by pushing the button behind the holder to make left and right rubber padded grippers pop open. Flick the two bottom tabs to rest phone on OR keep them closed to allow for larger phones to position lower and out of line-of-sight. I flip the two feet out and phone rests nicely. They I use one, one-handed firm grip to bring left and right padded rubber lugs in contact with phone aND one last bit of squeeze and phone if tightly mounted. As if it was firmly in your hand and flat square to your face.Like I said, I bounce along paved and dirt-bumpy roads and it’s never bounced out. The size and spacing of bottom feet and rubber side grippers provides very easy access to my phones bottom charger port and sides give me clear access to volume control on left, on/off button on right and finally aux/earbuds poet on top.To UNDO the holding grip you just take one finger to a button on the rear of holder and a little push and phone grippers slide wide-open but still resting on feet until you simply lift it free.1. I would buy this again if mine wore out.2. I would recommend it to friends and family.3. On my first unit I way OVER-BENT that first extreme 90° turn from straight down off windshield to pointing straight at my face, I pulled the flex arm right out of the base. NOT a manufacturing defect. No it was a mental & physical defect in me. But I still called Macally and they provided a speedy exchange. That’s why 5-stars. HAPPY MOTORING.

This is the 3rd Macally windshield mount I have purchased. They are no invincible, but last a long time. The neck is longer than most others. I bought a different one on amazon that has a great suction cup, good mount, but is about an inch shorter. I like the length of the neck. The phone grips work well, and the push button opens the side jaws and clamps down firmly. The only negatives are this: The suction cup is the clear kind, which is susceptible to cold temperatures. In below freezing, -20, it falls off the windshield. The other potential negative is the the rotation of the mount at the cradle. It clicks so it can’t be adjusted just a smidge. The other one I got off amazon is a ball mount that you tighten and it can be infinitely rotated, or adjusted. HOWEVER, sometimes size does matter! And the extra length of the goose neck (bout an inch) for my Dodge Charger does make the difference in mount location, and ease of visibility. (more horizontal whereas the shorter one you see the phone, and the neck and cup as it has to go up higher on the windshield. Lastly, the suction cup is also susceptible to UV fade over the years. Doesn’t degrade it’s suction, but it yellows. Still, excellent value and great quality.

This phone holder works 100% perfectly. Easy to install and my phone has not slipped off the magnet so far. No wonder amazon is better than Wal Mart… They just have everything where most stores are exclusive. Thanks amazon!

Très facile à poser! Prix très intéressant. Très solide, il adhère très bien à la vitre. Je suis une femme et je n’ai eu aucune difficulté à l’utiliser. Après en avoir essayé tant d’autres, je suis très satisfaite
