Logitech G915 TKL: A Game-Changer in Wireless Keyboards (vs. Das Keyboard)
Having used the Das Keyboard for years, I thought I had reached the pinnacle of mechanical keyboard performance—until I tried the Logitech G915 TKL. This keyboard redefines what a mechanical keyboard can achieve, blending cutting-edge technology, sleek design, and unmatched functionality. Here’s why the G915 stands out, especially when compared to the renowned Das Keyboard lineup.Design and Build Quality: Sleek Sophistication vs. Classic DurabilityThe Logitech G915 TKL immediately impresses with its ultra-slim, low-profile design. Crafted with an aircraft-grade aluminum alloy top plate, it feels premium without the bulk. The Das Keyboard, while rugged and solid, comes across as chunkier and less modern in comparison. The G915’s wireless capabilities also contribute to a cleaner desk aesthetic, whereas the Das Keyboard still relies on wired connections, adding cable clutter.Winner: Logitech G915 TKL for its sleek, minimalist elegance.Wireless Connectivity: Flawless PerformanceOne of the standout features of the G915 is its Lightspeed Wireless Technology, which delivers a 1ms response time—a game-changer for gaming and professional use alike. It’s as fast and reliable as any wired keyboard, putting it miles ahead of the Das Keyboard, which lacks wireless functionality altogether. Additionally, the G915 supports Bluetooth, allowing seamless switching between multiple devices, a convenience the Das cannot match.Winner: Logitech G915 TKL for unparalleled versatility and wireless freedom.Typing Experience: Low-Profile vs. Traditional SwitchesThe G915 TKL uses Logitech’s GL Tactile Switches, which are low-profile mechanical switches designed for speed and precision. The keystrokes are quieter than traditional Cherry MX switches (found on the Das Keyboard) but maintain the satisfying tactile feedback mechanical keyboard enthusiasts crave. The low actuation force and travel distance make the G915 ideal for both long gaming sessions and extended typing.Das Keyboard, while offering excellent tactile feedback with its Cherry MX switches, feels more traditional and less refined in this regard. The higher keycaps and longer travel distance might appeal to purists but feel less efficient compared to the G915.Winner: Logitech G915 TKL for its modern and responsive typing experience.Features and Customization: Gaming Edge with G915The Logitech G915 shines with features like per-key RGB lighting powered by LIGHTSYNC, which can be customized to an astonishing degree using Logitech’s G HUB software. By comparison, the Das Keyboard is limited in customization, with no RGB lighting options and minimal software support for personalization.Additionally, the dedicated media keys and the volume roller on the G915 are intuitive and ergonomically placed, while the Das Keyboard’s media controls feel less integrated and dated.Winner: Logitech G915 TKL for its advanced customization and gaming-centric features.

    Excellent wireless gaming keyboard w/RGB
I was looking for a wireless replacement for my Corsair K70 mk2. Looked at Red Dragon but the software is absolute garbage (won’t work at all). Looked at Logitech and saw the 915X. I already own a 502X lightspeed mouse, and very much enjoy using it, so figured maybe this 915X would be a good pair. And it is!The keyboard has a nice visual presentation. The chassis looks and feels premium, with a brushed sort of slightly off black look. The keys are a matte texture, with translucent plastic for the characters (it looks like the characters cannot rub off at all, which is great). The keys feel good. They are lower profile than the ones on my K70 mk2, which is great for me. My fingers were constantly tripping over the edges of keys on the K70, leading to a lot of typos. The lower profile keys coupled with smoother bevels on the edges make the keys on the 915X very nice to use.The linear switch has moderate travel and a moderate activation force. As a linear switch, there is zero tactile bump — it’s smooth all the way down to the bottom. I love this sort of switch as I feel like I have full control over the typing experience. But others might prefer something with a tactile bump, which this keyboard also comes with as an option.A couple of things that are annoying –1. Not really a fan of the macro buttons down the left side. I keep thinking the G1-G5 buttons are the leftmost buttons of the regular keyboard, so end up hitting those macro keys by accident if I’m not paying attention.2. Lighting control is a pain in the ass. It’s decently powerful, not nearly as functional Corsair’s. But usable. But the way you do animations is a huge pain. All animations basically are transitions from one configuration of lights to another. So things like twinkly effects or whatever basically need to be created with keyframes. In contrast, the Corsair software gives you options for animations which you can layer on top of each other for interesting effects.3. The wireless range isn’t that great via Lightspeed. I switch between my desk and TV room which is right next to the office. With the dongle connected to my computer itself, I’d lose connection at around 20 feet. I ended up getting a 6 foot USB extension, plugging the dongle into that, then setting the dongle about halfway between my computer and the TV room. Works like a charm. But I really shouldn’t have to do that, I feel like.

    Fantastic Gaming Keyboard
Very sturdy and stable. The key response is excellent with a smooth tactile feel. Fully customizable and programable. HUGE improvements over the G800 series.

All the great things go to the drain, faulty letter “T” not recognized or erratic behavior
I had the G915 tactile for a few years and i have to say its a great keyboard. I had a 200 gift card from Amazon and I regret so much in spending it in the X version. All the great things about it go to the drain because it seems that the letter “T” is faulty, just typing this I’m having issues. As some other buyer wrote, sometimes the key is recognized in my case the T sometimes it doesn’t and sometimes it makes the next letters behave erratically. The worst part of all is that I live in Panama so I can’t return this. I’ve bought dozens if not hundreds of tech products online and I think its the first time I really got a faulty one.Logitech support if you are reading his and you have an authorized center in Panama City, Panama please let me know.

Did I need to upgrade? (From a 910) Probably not but I wanted to… this keyboard has a sleek brushed aluminum frame that feels quality. The plastic gamer features have been replaced with a minimalistic interface that feels great. The weight of the keyboard is great, when balancing on a lap it feels substantial yet not to great – it is well balanced and i feel i could club a man with this keyboard then connect it wirelessly(24ghz or bluetooth) and type out an apology (or rational)The msrp is obnoxious.. it hurts.. when previous models were a tough call at 1/3rd less this really hurts the pocketbook. However, aside from the price, everything else has been great (charged keyboard when first unboxed and still over 90% week later)If you can afford it (maybe a good sale price) it is a fantastic keyboard. Are there others that do the same for less. Most likely.. do they look and feel as good.. well that is user opinion.

Prior to this I was using a cheap $50 keyboard. When I switched to this it was a difference of night and day. The keys are super nice to click and the metal frame makes the keyboard feel nice and heavy. The only drawback is that it’s very expensive.

First of amazon shipping has become a joke… keyboard was sent in a big box and keyboard banged in the box so hard that it damaged the keyboard. Now the product flaws – keyboard was typing endless spaces when I type a space. May be could be due to the damage I mentioned earlier (could be not) the space bar fit itself is wonky I’m guessing this is QC issue. Critical flaws is the caps indicator displayed elsewhere, May be I could get used to looking at the new spot but the deal breaker is the Num lock, no indicator what so ever unless u have a Logihub software so it displays on ur screen when pressed. I live by numpad, this hinders my flow and can’t install logi software on work laptop so each time I had to guess if it’s on/off by typing a number key to check. Cant imagine that something this trival is being missed in 2024. Returned.EDIT – it seems to save the numlock setting may be set it once and forget. So i decided to give the replacement a DITL, it gets worse every turn. I could tell lighting on this keyboard is worst implementation. U could have a phd on whales communications, but it takes ages to understand logihub and why it is that way. If you plan on using the onboard memory, be whatever your lighting preference every time keeb goes to sleep it will reset to blue wave. If you have windows 11 ditch the logihub and go with windows dynamic lighting and set to a static color and call it a day. If you are like me stuck with windows 10 n onboard memory, sorry to say that you should build muscle memory of pressing brightness+8/9 to get to your saved lighting preference everytime the keyboard goes to sleep. My mid range 4 yr old steel series keyboard had better onboard effects n user experience.
