    Incredible Value
Some things that really stood out to me -Pros:- 5 pin hotswap support (regular pin thickness OK, not just outemu thin pins)- Pre-lubed stabilizers (they used something akin to XHT-BDZ, seriously, it’s thick, not translucent, works wonderfully)- Volume knob is textured, fits nicely, has stepped tactile feedback when adjusting- 3 quick function buttons for default music player, calculator, and ‘search’ (defaults to either your url bar when you’re in a browser or search function on your desktop)- Has both Apple and PC Support (Insane at this price point!)- Detachable USB-C (HOWEVER! compatibility is limited, you need a very thin usb-c housing to clear the sides of the keyboard port. You are best left using the default cable that comes with the board).- You get 6 sample switches (2 clickies, 2 linears, and 2 tactiles. Good for replacement in case over time you have defective switches on your board).Cons- The PCB is North Facing, meaning some keycap sets may experience interference (I have not tested GMK or any of the more premium sets). I personally put on a set of Keyreative blanks over the original caps and did not experience any interference. You can easily rock the default set and it works just fine.Overall, seriously amazing value at a price of $15.29 for the brown switch variety during Black Friday 2024. Most boards upwards of $50 won’t even have most of the features here and the typing feel is great. If you’re new to keyboards and want to experience mechanical, this is a great starting point if you’re looking for a full-size 104 key board. If you’re an experienced custom keyboard person, this is an amazing beater board for work or backup board that you won’t regret purchasing.

Finally a mechanical keyboard at a price I can justify
I have to admit I’ve never been a fan of mechanical keyboards since the earliest ones were loud, extremely tactile, and generally annoying to type on, just like the typewriters that preceded them. The best keyboard I ever used in my tech career was the Sun Type 5. That had the perfect feel. Smooth, quiet and a soft / non-jarring bottoming action. Of course they were just rubber domes. And that probably explains why I’ve spent the better part of the last 20 years using rubber domes — always looking for a similar experience, but not quite finding it.This keyboard isn’t that and it wasn’t what I was looking for. It’s better. I bought the brown switch version and while it’s not silent and, like most mechanical switches, the keys stop sharply when they bottom the overall feel of the keyboard is amazing. The price is a steal for this level of quality. No, you’re not getting a metal case or foam liners on the key bed for this price, but to be frank, I don’t need those. All I need is a keyboard that will provide a consistent feel throughout its life, and I think this will do exactly that. The rotary control (volume knob) is a helpful touch, and one of the main reasons I bought the unit as I will not own another keyboard without one. The RGB backlighting is the other reason I bought the keyboard, as I tend to code at night and the backlight helps reduce eye strain. I don’t really care for the various moving RGB patterns. All I need is a static color under all keys, and this keyboard provides four — red, blue, green, and yellow, all selectable on the keyboard itself with no need for supporting software. It’s even possible to turn off the backlighting when I walk away from the keyboard and leave my system on as I frequently do.Needless to say, I’m unusually happy with this purchase and I’ll be buying more for my other systems.

    Good keyboard but unintuitive settings
I have played with the settings on this keyboard and I can’t seem to get the keys to display a static red. The sides of the keyboard emit red, so there must be an option to shine the same red, but the closest I can get is a pink or purple. One review states that you can’t turn off the undercarriage red lighting – this is inaccurate. You can change it to breathe and you can change it to turn completely off. The switches are jixian switches and they have a nice tactile feel. I like that they include a set of spares. Build quality is pretty good for the price. I’m not in love with this keyboard; I might return it.Pros:Hot swappableRemovable USB connectionCompatible with Windows, Linux and Apple – can toggle windows or macintoshHas lightingVolume knob is pretty niceCons:RGB lighting effects are limited to rainbow and some annoying presetsLEDs are north facing so compatibility with cherry profile keycaps is limited. I don’t get why so the double shot keycaps with shine through seem to be cherry profile and not compatible with cheap keyboards like this. Seems like an unfilled void in the market. No software interface to customize the RGB effectsNo deep red setting for the key backlighting (and it is totally capable of it because it can shine red when in rainbow mode).Edit: It turns out that the problem existed between the keyboard and my chair. For some reason, the static colors are stored in separate banks of color options between the cheesy rainbow pattern effects. Completely mind boggling why the features were designed this way, but when I was frustratingly cycling through colors to try to find red, I was in a bank of static colors which didn’t include red. There’s another bank of static colors hiding elsewhere if you cycle far enough in the opposite direction (it doesn’t seem to loop on itself). The way it was designed to work doesn’t make sense to me but it is what it is. Fiddle long enough with this keyboard and you might get it to light up the way that you want it to look.Again, I was wrong, you can get this to emit red for the keys. I have raised the star rating from 3 to 4. Still not the best keyboard ever, but if you can snag one for $15-30 it’s a pretty incredible deal. Also, as stated before, the under keyboard red lighting effects can be modified by pressing the FN key and then the menu key. Other reviews have incorrectly stated that you can’t turn them off.Sound: this thing makes plenty of noise. Swapping to a blue switch makes it even louder. If you are looking for a completely silent experience, this isn’t it. I like how it sounds. It sounds like productivity.Perhaps the fatal flaw in this keyboard is the unintuitive configuration settings and user error.

TL;DR summary: BUY IT!!!I use my keyboard for typing. After the L switch on my old, non-hotswappable, keyboard started acting intermittently, I wanted a keyboard where I can replace an individual malfunctioning switch and, as a bonus, to do a build that’s closer to the feel to the M-type (like Unicomp). Most basic hot-swappables go north of $100, so price-wise, this one was a no-brainer. It comes with a removable USB-C cable, a dual keycap/switch puller tool and a few spare switches (2x blue, 2x red, 2x brown).FYI my typing build will have all keys with Gateron green switches other than the arrows, which will be Gateron reds (for less finger strain when scrolling my ebooks/webpages).Pros:-Price!!! Dirt-cheap-Hot-swappable, so I can customize it for my needs and also replace individual malfunctioning switches-Backlighting can be adjusted without software, including having a single colour, of preferred brightness-No need to install special software to adjust the lighting (especially since my main desktop runs Linux)-The initial setup with the blue switches is perfectly fine for typing while I wait for the green switches to come in-Removable USB-C cable-Comes with a keycap and a switch puller-You get some extra switches-You can switch between Windows and Mac layoutsSo-so-Keycaps are OK but nothing spectacular. I may replace them at some point-Comes with Outemu switches. While they are the worst among the major brands, they are generally OK and I was doing a different build anyway, so the supplied switches will end up in a ziplocCons:-A little on the light side (not that I plan on using it as a bludgeoning weapon and the keyboard is stable, so it’s not a big one)-All plastic surface (also not a dealbreaker for me – I’m touching the keycaps, not trying to finger the top plate for whatever reason)

I would like to state that my only complaint is that this keyboard was missing its volume control knob in the top right corner of the keyboard.I have been using this keyboard for a few days now and I have been enjoying the overall feel of the blue switches and the responsiveness from the keyboard. When I removed it from the box I was surprised at heavy it felt and I am no longer pushing my keyboard across my desk due to it lightness. There are plenty of color and pattern options to choose from or it can be turned off depending on the look you are going for. When comparing the price of this keyboard against other mechanical keyboard this seems like a now brainer now that I have it under my fingertips. My biggest concern was that it would feel too cheap but I don’t get that impression at all while using it. The switches are customizable, which is nice as some mechanical keyboard are soldered in and you are stuck with what you get, not to mention they provided 6 extras incase you want to swap or test things.I would 100% consider buying this again even though it was missing the volume knob. I have reached out to the manufacturer directly on their website but have yet to hear back. Hope fully they will get a hold of me to straighten things out. All in all still quite pleased with this well priced entry level mechanical keybaord.

  6. Riley traxel

I really like this keyboard smooth key presses and all. My favorite thing about this keyboard is the volume knob on it makes volume adjustments supper quick and easy. I did however have 1 issue but it’s not much of an issue it will just take me time to get used to, but that is the left alt key and the windows keys have been set up incorrectly meaning the windows key is the alt key and vice versa. so my alt key is next to the control key and the windows key is next to space bar which is weird but it’s fine. other than that I’m really happy with this purchase. I will however will be doing a full review of this keyboard after 1 month of use so stay tuned.

  7. Foodie Lover

I’ve had a compact mechanical keyboard for some time now, originally with blue switches that I ended up swapping out for cherry red switches as although I quite liked the noisy click of the keys it wasn’t ideal in front of others as a little distracting.Anyway decided to upgrade to a full size and will enjoy an odd gaming session so like the additional multimedia keys and nice knurled volume control offered by this full size. A reasonable selection of RGB functionality with a couple of multi coloured breathing effects, single colour mode (can select base colour), a chasing light effect and a colour splash on key press plus a couple of fade in out modes so more than enough even for the most avid gamer. Personally I like the colour cycle mode. Most importantly is how it operates, the keys are reasonably quiet with a good travel, little noise from the keys but the switches are silent so no issues typing around others. The key heads themselves are reasonably compact as the keys quite tapered so it can take a little getting used to you if you’ve been using a wider key (like you might find on a laptop). Full array of multimedia keys, very nice volume control and a complete numberpad finish of the design. Oh I should mention as well the keys are marked with US/UK and EU symbols so can be used with different OS layouts. Reasonably weighty it feels solid, it has a nice braided USB A to C cable for connectivity and so can easily replace or use an extra cable if you regularly take the keyboard away from home and they supply a key cap and switch pulleroff you ever wanted to swap out keys to Blue or Brown switches or if course if any were to fail. It does also have feet to the base which work but are only single position. Overall for the money it’s a great buy, have been using now for a few weeks and getting more used to it and it’s a pleasure to use.

  8. Dean Reviewz

I’ve been using this gaming keyboard for a couple of months now, and overall, I’m pretty satisfied. It’s tactile and relatively quiet for a mechanical keyboard. The RGB lighting is pretty customizable, considering it’s not a selling point.I felt the need to replace a few of the keys at the bottom row with keycaps from my Steelseries (CTRL, Win/Meta, ALT) because of comfort and aesthetics. I doubt it’ll be an issue for pretty much anyone else. The shortcut keys are pretty nice and work as intended. (I don’t have very high expectations, but they were surpassed)
