Great Entry Level Mechanical Keyboard
Bought this for my office, and it certainly does not disappoint. If you don’t have a mechanical keyboard, this is an amazing option for the price, and if you already have one, but need another for an office or something, this is a great budget option to save you from loathing your typing experience.pros:Basically a full sized layout, but not absolutely massive – good for saving space on a desk but maintaining full functionality.Keycaps are doubleshot – if you don’t know, this means that the legends are printed from a separate injection of plastic – they will never wear away. This is typically something seen on boards that garner a much higher price.Chassis is decently weighted, and feels very sturdy – no need to worry about it breaking if you drop it by accident(or slam it in a fit of rage).Stabilizers come pre-lubed and are very tight feeling – if you know, you know. Big keys like the shift keys, backspace, and space-bar have stabilizers on them that on many cheap boards have an annoying rattle that can distract from key feel. This board is setup the right way with lubed stabilizers, so all of the larger keys feel tight and thocky. Nice.Aesthetics are pretty good – this keyboard doesn’t scream “I’m a gamer NEET,” and I appreciate that because I’m using this in an office setting. The font choice for the keycaps isn’t ridiculous looking, and the color choice is good, even if a bit too modern.LED settings can be changed from the board – this is a nice feature because oftentimes proprietary keyboard software is bloated, and potentially untrustworthy since many of these products are made in China. It is always a plus to have onboard LED customizability options.Classic three switch choice – red(linear), brown(arguably tactile), and blue(clicky and probably obnoxious). I deliberately chose my least favorite of these three (brown), because it’s a little stiffer than red switches which I find to be too light for typing, and less obnoxiously loud than blue switches, which might annoy others in my office. Despite this board having my least favorite of the three, I still really like it – a testament to its build quality and features. Seriously though if you want to try actual tactile switches, stay away from mx type switches, they just don’t deliver on tactility.Cons(none of these are deal breakers in the slightest):Stands a bit too tall for my liking – even with the angled feet out, the chassis sits pretty tall, so it’ll take some adjusting if you’re used to a shorter board. Not hot-swappable – for this price, you can’t reasonably expect to be able to hot-swap switches, and I’m glad that they prioritized putting their money into other aspects of the keyboard such as the keycaps and stabilizers, but it’s always nice to have the ability to hot-swap switches.LEDs don’t really serve a purpose – since the keycaps are doubleshot with an opaque color for the legends, the light doesn’t shine through, so it feels kind of unnecessary to have a backlight at all. Also, while you can make key backlight just flatly on, you can’t do the same for the sidebar – I find LED breathing effects pretty distracting, but this is nitpicking admittedly.

Fast, Satisfying, and Stunning Lighting!
I’m absolutely loving the KEMOVE K98SE! It’s super fast and responsive, making both gaming and typing a breeze. The sound is so satisfying—each key press has that perfect clicky feel without being too noisy. The multiple lift adjustments make it easy to find the most comfortable setup. And the lighting? Stunning! The customizable RGB lights are vibrant and really make the keyboard stand out on my desk. Highly recommend for anyone who loves performance and style in one package!

Aesthetically pleasing! Gives Tron vibe
My wife bought me this keyboard and for it being a low price, the quality is great. It does not feel cheap, it’s heavy and the keycaps respond great and sound good. There are multiple light patterns and you can program up to 5 patterns as your favorites. I am using this with my MacBook and it is able to control volume and pause buttons. You can also control brightness and turn off the lights.Cons: you cannot change the color of the lights, not wireless – but the cable included is type C and is good material, does not feel cheap.Overall this is a great keyboard and would definitely buy again!

Good keyboard, but kind of cheap switches
UPDATEI replaced the blue switches with box black because I didn’t like the clicky-ness and that went ok, but when I reused the blue switches in another board, I had a lot of problems with the south-most pin bending or even flattening if I was not extremely careful about lining up the pins. The metal on that pin seems really flimsy. It doesn’t affect the operation of the board if you never take the switches out, but this is a hot-swappable board, so taking the switches out and putting them back in is expected. I’ve worked with maybe a dozen other switches from various manufacturers and these are the most fragile.Original reviewThis is a review written just after unboxing and using for a day. I got the white Shadowfox with blue switches. I got it because I wanted a hot swappable keyboard to try out different switches and keycaps. I’m not a gamer or an enthusiast, so my review is mostly for just general use with a variety of devices including Windows, Apple, and mobile.1. Good build quality. Everything is tight and lines up. The plastic case seems to be good quality and well finished.2. I like that the risers rubberized so the keyboard is very stable even at an angle.3. Everything seems to work: A. All the keys light and the shine through is bright. The keys feel well made and there are no cloudy or uneven areas. B. Works on both Mac and Windows. The win/mac switch works as it should. (Note: The keycaps are for windows, but a small legend on the keys for Apple Command, Option, Control would have been nice). C. Bluetooth connects to my iPad. (It’s easy to figure out FN+Z or X or C, but it’s a little clunky because when I turned the keyboard off I had to press the Bluetooth button to reconnect.) D. Wired worked ok, but I had a problem with one of my hub ports like someone else had. I’d plug the keyboard in and it would just charge but not connect. I put it in another port and it worked fine. I don’t know if it’s just the hub, or a problem with the cable. E. Blue switches are loud. That’s just personal preference, but I am going to replace them with something quieter. F. LEDs are bright and the pre-sets are ok. It’s easy to cycle through. G. I Haven’t tried the software. I probably won’t though as I really don’t need that much customization. H. Battery seems good so far. I’ll update if there are any long-term issues.I tried removing some keys and switches and tried the three extra included switches. Everything worked well (the switches are very tight in the plate and it took a little effort to get them out.) Like I said I wanted to try a keyboard with blue switches for a while but the clickyness is kind of louder than I’d like.Only things I didn’t like are with the on/off and the win/mac switches. They work ok, but seem a little loose/cheap and rattle just a little when you shake the keyboard. They’re also right next to each other so it’s easy to slide the wrong one if you aren’t careful.Overall it’s a pretty nice keyboard. Everything seems to be working as it should out of the box and seems to be a good keyboard for the price. I’d recommend if you want a keyboard to try out different switch and key configurations, or need a compact keyboard for travel or mobile devices. The 60% configuration is a little tight for normal office work—I think it’s an option only if you have very little desk space.I also think it also looks pretty good. The lighting is bright and clear and the case is plastic, but solid and clean looking.

So happy with my keyboard
It looks, feels and sounds so great. Gives a retro desktop keyboard feel but looks modern and clean. I love it!

Non-changeable switches are bad, keys have stopped working.
Love and hate this Keyboard. Very affordable and is perfect in size for limited desk space and ease of functionality, it is wonderful to type on. Have had just over a month and several of the keys have stopped working. The switches are not changeable. It is a shame too as its a really nice keyboard otherwise. Can no longer return. What a waste.

Exceptional for the price
Amazing build quality, very clacky and smooth keys, backlights don’t change color but if you are fine with solid blue like me it’s not a big deal, still plenty of light effects.

I really like the form factor on this board, as well as the features. But unfortunately it falls short on a bunch of weird quirks, which hopefully would be fixable with software updates.Firstly lets just list the pros and cons:Pros:+ Hot swappable+ Mod (fn) on right hand+ Physical switch for win/mac+ USB C+ Braided cable+ BT 5.1Cons:- 90 degree angle on the usb C cable (just why?!)- The software is crap- Unreliable on wireless connection (will get back to this)- Quick activation of Windows mode with FN+WIN really annoying while on MacSo to explain a bit further:I do also experience the issues some others have been talking about, where on Bluetooth connection, they keyboard simply just freezes on some random letter, and stops responding to any input at all. The only way to fix this is either to wait a longer period (sometimes it just pops back to life), or just to turn the keyboard off and on again. I noticed this issue both while the cable was plugged in and not, I did however find that just plugging the cable in does not automatically change the connection to wired, you need to also shut down the bluetooth connection, otherwise it will just charge via the cord, but still run over Bluetooth (and freezing continues). Hopefully this is something that can be fixed via internal software update or something.. I have only experienced this on my Mac, although I have never used Bluetooth connection on my Windows machine, therefore I kinda assumed it has to do with the wireless mode. The other thing I find super annoying is that when I’m on Mac, I use CMD + Arrows to jump words instead of characters in text (a MacOS thing I guess), but to access the arrows you need to hold down FN, which is fine, the problem is however that the “left alt” on Mac (WIN on this keyboard) activates the “quick windows” mode (same as if you flip the switch behind to windows mode), which remaps CMD and ALT. So I need to hold down left alt (win) BEFORE I press FN to access the arrows. Now I’m kinda used to it (muscle memory), but i sometimes still accidentally activate windows mode on the keyboard doing this, and it always takes me some extra time to notice this since I never look down on my keys to notice this (the WIN button lights up red when this is activated).Last point is the included software. I haven’t tried it on Windows, but I tried it on Mac. There was no official download for it but I managed to find a beta of it in Kemoves support forum but I quickly uninstalled it again seeing how useless it was, I was kinda hoping to be able to easily change colors of specific keys but it proved to be very difficult (not easy as selecting a button and a color like in Logitech software). Now I’ve just settled on the presets which are programmed in to the keyboard…I really want to like this board, but the freezing on wireless connection really bugs me out, and If I could somehow deactivate the possibility to activate WIN mode with win+fn would be great…If you put $100 or more on a keyboard, with the Kemove in it’s current state, I’d suggest you look elsewhere sadly…

Click, click…. I love it. The option to manually set to Mac or Windows, is amazing. Battery as well not to mention the colour choices. Downside though, on Mac, if you are not using for a while it turns off, which would not be a problem, although sometimes its lazy to find the connection but nothing major. I would advise the future buyer to get a hand rest pad as well since it is on its on a bit tall.

Pleased with this. I’m a mechanical keyboard enthusiast who owns keybords way more expensive than this one. Took the chance as I needed a hotswap board asap, and I wasn’t disappointed. Keyboard is a nice quality, Gat Blues are great keys (yes, I like clicky switches), keycaps are not the best, but far from the worst, either. Look and feel are clean and smooth. RGB is lacking in options, but if that’s not what you buy for, pick your favourite (or shut it off) and move on. The plastic case is a little too shiny and plastic-y to my taste, but again, for the money it’s a nice keyboard.Major bonus is that this works with Mac. It needs a little fiddling the first time it connects, but that is easily overlooked for the fact that one can use the board for three different phones/laptops/tvs/whatever as long as it has bluetooth.Overall it is a nice board, great for the hotswap option, definitely great if you need a sleek board for your Mac and don’t want to spend too much. Overall a useful allround board that is worth what you pay for it.
