Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection – Nintendo Switch
**Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection** for the Nintendo Switch is a nostalgic package that brings together several classic titles from the Jurassic Park series. Here’s a detailed review of this collection:### OverviewThe Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection features a selection of retro games based on the Jurassic Park franchise, originally released for various platforms in the 1990s. This collection is designed to appeal to fans of the franchise as well as retro gaming enthusiasts.### Game Selection**Included Titles:** The collection typically includes a mix of games such as:- **Jurassic Park (Genesis/SNES):** An action-adventure game where players navigate through the island, dealing with dinosaurs and completing objectives.- **Jurassic Park: The Lost World (Genesis/SNES):** A side-scrolling action game based on the second film, featuring dinosaur hunting and platforming.- **Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition (Genesis):** A more action-oriented game with a focus on fighting dinosaurs and completing missions.- **Jurassic Park: Trespasser (PC):** An early 3D adventure game with survival elements, if included in this collection.### Gameplay and Features**Classic Gameplay:** The games included in the collection retain their original gameplay mechanics, which may appeal to those who have fond memories of these titles. The gameplay can vary from platforming and action to strategy and adventure, providing a diverse retro gaming experience.**Controls and Adaptation:** The collection is adapted for the Nintendo Switch, which typically involves remapping controls to suit the Joy-Con or Pro Controller. The transition to the Switch’s controls is generally smooth, though the experience can differ from the original platforms.### Graphics and Performance**Visuals:** The graphics are preserved from the original releases, which means players can expect pixelated, 16-bit visuals for the older titles. While the graphics may seem dated compared to modern games, they maintain a nostalgic charm. The Switch’s screen does justice to the classic art style.**Performance:** The games run well on the Switch, with stable performance and minimal issues. Any enhancements or improvements in resolution or frame rate depend on how well the collection was ported, but generally, the classic games perform as expected.### Additional Features**Extras:** Some collections may include additional features such as:- **Art Galleries:** Showcasing concept art or promotional material related to the games.- **Soundtracks:** Providing access to the original music tracks from the games.- **Cheat Codes and Unlockables:** Offering options to access or utilize cheat codes that were available in the original games.### Pros- **Nostalgic Value:** Appeals to fans of the original Jurassic Park games and retro gaming enthusiasts.- **Diverse Selection:** Offers a range of gameplay styles from different Jurassic Park titles.- **Portable Gaming:** Allows players to enjoy these classic games on the go with the Switch.### Cons- **Aged Graphics and Mechanics:** The visual and gameplay elements may feel outdated compared to modern games.- **Limited New Content:** The collection may not include significant updates or enhancements, sticking closely to the original versions.### Conclusion**Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection** for the Nintendo Switch is a nostalgic treat for fans of the Jurassic Park franchise and retro gaming. While the graphics and gameplay are rooted in the 1990s, the collection offers a valuable opportunity to revisit classic titles from the series. Its appeal is strongest for those with a fondness for retro games and the Jurassic Park universe.

A Nostalgic Dino-Sized Thrill Ride on Nintendo Switch
Hold on to your butts, because the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection on the Switch is a one-way ticket back to the golden age of gaming! This dino-packed compilation resurrects the iconic 16-bit chaos of both the SNES and Sega Genesis classics, and let me tell you—this is an absolute T-Rex of a collection. The nostalgia hits harder than a Velociraptor ambush. The visuals have been meticulously polished for modern screens while still retaining that retro, pixelated charm that we grew up loving. From the atmospheric jungle ambiance to the nerve-wracking dino chases, every pixel screams vintage perfection. The Switch’s portability adds an extra layer of thrill—surviving Isla Nublar’s chaos on the go feels like a dangerous mission I never want to end.Gameplay-wise, this collection has aged like fine amber. The puzzle-solving, combined with the heart-pounding moments of evading prehistoric predators, keeps you on the edge of your seat—sometimes literally. Whether you’re blasting Raptors with tranquilizers or navigating intricate mazes, the gameplay is equal parts exhilarating and punishingly fun. This isn’t just a nostalgia trip—it’s a Jurassic-sized celebration of classic gaming, reanimated for the modern gamer. Whether you’re a diehard fan or new to the island, welcome back to the park. You won’t want to leave.

Worth it if you remember the classics
This is definitely worth it if you remember the classics games on consoles. I particularly am I fan of the SNES and Genesis games.

Not as much fun as expected
This was a gift for my 11 year old grandson. After a short time playing, he found the multiple games to be rather boring and too easy.

NEEDS Actual Improvements
So, after a long wait for a physical copy and the Prehistoric Edition, I was able to finally play this on Switch. My initial thought was that it lacks improvements. One of the selling points for this originally on the product page was about “Quality of Life Improvement,” which, considering I own original copies of most of the games in this collection, appears to be nonexistent. There honestly weren’t any improvements at all, not even for that red arrow that’s hard to see in the JP 2 for SNES or improvements on the graphics whatsoever.Side note, I also bought their remaster of Gargoyles, but that was by far a better investment for the graphics and switching function between the modern and classic game, just like Halo Anniversary has. They also included a variant of the NECA Goliath figure and a cool audio intro for the collector’s edition. Where was all of that for Jurassic Park’s Prehistoric Edition? And I understand the JP games weren’t remastered, but if you’re selling something with “Quality of Life Improvement” noted in the product page, then I expect improvements, as if the games were rebuilt from the ground up.On with the rest of the review. As I was playing the first SNES JP game, I noticed something off with the messaging prompts that annoyingly show up at random, even when you’re about to be mauled by a trio of Velociraptors. The issue was there were no pictures of the characters anymore. I’m not sure if that was a glitch or intended, but even if it was intended, it still looks like an error. It’s hard to believe Limited Run could get permission from Universal to get a whole collection together but not be allowed to show faces of the original actors in the SNES game.In terms of overall performance, I give it 8 out of 10. Because speaking of JP 2 on SNES again, it runs as janky as can be. I’m sure it’s not the hardware, being that the Switch plays many retro games, either from the online service or downloaded from the eShop, extremely well. So, back to “Quality of Life Improvements.”. Where are they??Lastly, for the fans who love them or hate them. Why, when there were plenty more games to include, could Limited Run not include the games for Master System, Game Gear, Amiga (PC), 3DO, and Saturn? This is a COLLECTION of specifically Jurassic Park games. I mean, if they could have included The Lost World game from each platform as well, then I would have been ecstatic for them, too. But instead, we got the bare minimum. Even while writing this, I quickly kicked in rational thought about my review score going from an 8 to a 5, realizing how many issues this product had alone. So, to my favorite franchise and the fans alike, you all deserved better. One thing I will thank Limited Run for is that they made sure packing my item was done very well, and they included by email a voucher for a Steam copy of the collection a few months ahead of time. But honestly, I never played that copy. Not to be the guy that doesn’t play anything on PC, but I prefer console gaming. Especially, since I enjoy retro gaming either on original hardware or on modern consoles. So, while the voucher gift was appreciated, I think it would have been better off getting a digital copy for the hardware I bought the game for, instead of assuming everyone plays on PC. Maybe this collection could use a second chance with actual improvement this time. Thanks!
