Good games for 6 year old
My grandson pulled the charger out to hard from the game piece and now it will not charge. Is there anything we can do to fix the gamer?

Unique games, good battery life
Very impressed by this game console. It feels pretty well made and the games are totally unique. And they’re really fun. I’m not sure what system they’re from but they’re quick, mobile friendly games you can pick up and play. The screen is good too.

Fun for what it is, has room for improvement
Lets just get the improvements out of the way real quick. This a great first handheld gaming device for a little toddler with 0 expectations of what type of experience they should be having. There was zero documentation included with this handheld device, some of the buttons aren’t buttons but just plastic bits (the L and R buttons to be specific), and there’s nothing to tell you what any of the buttons do. It’s very much trial and error with every single game, and this trial and error is made worse by the fact that nearly every button that’s not used by whatever game you’re playing backs you out to the main menu, forcing you to scroll through possibly 200+ games to get back to the one you were playing. Thats frustrating and could use work. Input responsiveness could improve as well.Now that thats out of the way. There are many redeeming features of this handheld. It comes with a ton of games, many of them are quite good games, or rather clones of them. Some of these clones dont run very well, but simply having a clone of metal slug on this thing was enough to warrant 5 stars had it not been for the overwhelming user unfriendliness of it’s controls. The colors are vibrant and warm and the sound is crisp and undistorted.My wife and I keep this in our nursery for when we change our 2 year old. We no longer have problems with the toddler alligator death rolls during diaper changes as he becomes completely transfixed on the handheld. It doesnt even matter what game I put it on. Sudoku? no problem. Same thing in the car. When hes tired of his non screen time toys, we hand him this and let him have at it. Even if he’s not playing anything it’s enough to keep him busy and engaged.As an adult I sometimes fiddle with it because I don’t have any other way to play metal slug.

Not as engaging as I had hoped it would be…
Although there are a multitude of games on this device (over 200) it definitely isn’t worth the price point, even with the discounted coupon. The device doesn’t have instructions for how to operate any of the games, so my niece (who is autistic but high-functioning) was not sure how to play some of the games. I do like that some of the games will teach her about counting and numbers, however the sound it makes is a bit too much for me (and at times her) to handle. It’s just a super annoying song-sound that it constantly plays, and after about 10 minutes I’m ready to chuck the device out the window. It’s not a high-tech game but rather something I ordered to keep my niece occupied when she needs something to do (since we limit her television viewing), and she isn’t always able to go outside and play. This is reduced to being in my car when I take her places (such as a doctor appointment) where she needs something to keep her occupied, but it isn’t always effective despite having a variety of games to play. The device itself is ok but not something that is of great quality (not that much of what is made these days is). I honestly cannot say I would recommend it because I wouldn’t. I know there are a multitude of devices to keep kids busy, but I was hoping this would be something that would be educational as well as entertaining. In all honesty, she prefers her iPad which has PBS Kids on it over this device, however her father limits her viewing of the iPad since she watches movies on it as well.. I was hoping this would be more engaging however it fell flat. Overall this is not a winner (especially since it has the annoying sound it plays constantly and lacks directions or some sort of information regarding the games that would better allow her to know what to do and how to play). I personally wouldn’t recommend it and may end up donating it to the thrift store.
