If you’re familar with retro handhelds and you’ve used one of the best budget kings (the often cloned R36S), and you’ve held pretty much any handheld from Anbernic, but especially the RG35XX series devices, then you’ll know what I’m saying that when you take this guy out of the box, you’ll say “If feels like an Anbernic!”Trust me, if you’re not familar, it’s a good thing to be compared to an Anbernic for build quality!The internals of this device are basically 100% an R36S, which is a $30-$40 device that is a SOLID emulator all the way up to PS1!This device comes out of the box with emulation station as the front end, which is decent in and of itself, but since this is basically an R36S, you can download the superior ArkOS AeUX version from github and flash it to an SD card. There are multiple versions of ArkOS for the R36S and that is because of different screens. You need to choose the correct version.As it turns out, this device is using the same screen as an R36S with a V1 screen. Download that one, flash it do an SD card and you’re golden!Copy over your BIOS files and ROM files and Bob’s your uncle!This device is selling for $50.00 as of this review. That’s about $10.00 on average than an R36S, but $20.00 less than an RG35XX Plus.It’s priced correctly. You’re not going to get better performance than an R36S (you’ll get the same performance), but you’ll be getting better build quality than an R36S in trade.Want to save as much money as possible for PS1 games and lower? Get an R36S.Want the build quality of an Anbernic, but don’t want to pay the higher price for one? Get this BattleXP G350!

A bargain that doesn’t feel cheap
I really didn’t think I’d be giving this console five stars, but after some time playing around with it, I feel it deserves nothing less. The first thing that impressed me was the solid feel it has despite being plastic. Many of these cheaper handhelds have a fragile, almost brittle feeling to them. The G350 seems more noticeably well-built.When it comes to the display, I was also expecting less than what this machine actually delivered. The controls and fire buttons all had a great response which made playing games enjoyable. Despite being a smaller handheld, the layout doesn’t seem overly cramped. As far as hardware goes, most of the games I tried out did perform up to par. Some of the newer system emulators, however, might languish a bit.There’s not much I can criticize when considering the G350’s price point. I’m pleasantly surprised by how well this handheld played, and by the overall quality of its build.

Great for the price! The picture is way better than I expected and it doesn’t have any issues. Seem to hold battery fine and isn’t too cheap feeling (though it is plastic).

Wow!
The quality of this little handheld game is WAY better than I expected. The video I took actually doesn’t do it justice because the game screen is clearer than my 4k TV (and apparently clearer than my iPhone). I have another emulator that’s similar and it has a few more games on it so I only give this 4 stars simply because it would have been great to already have certain PlayStation games pre-loaded (like Lode Runner, Kingdom Hearts, or Jersey Devil). But I can add it all myself so it’s not that bad. I know my kids are going to want to play it when they see me balled up in bed playing Crash Bandicoot lol. But I’m really glad I got this!
