Works well for my wife and I.
I actually got this for my wife’s computer. Her previous mouse was unusable by me because of my arthritis and I often have to use her computer. This is a very well designed mouse and even with the limited dexterity of my fingers, I can use it without difficulty.I have it set up in a wired configuration even though the mouse will work with Biuetooth or 2.4Ghz setup. The rechargeable 500mAh battery initially struck me as small, but it lasts for at least a week of medium usage.Neither of us is a gamer, but the selectable DPI is a nice feature. In terms of use, the mouse slides smoothly and feels good in our hand.I’d say it’s good value for the money.Jerry

Decent wireless mouse with Bluetooth and 2.4G wi-fi connections
I’ve been using this mouse for several days and it’s worked well, basically. I only used it with Bluetooth connectivity but I understand that using it with 2.4G wi-fi allows finer movement for some uses such as gaming, which I don’t do. On a charge the mouse’s internal battery lasted me at least four days and I used my computer a lot. How long would it last on 2.4G wi-fi? I don’t know and can’t guess… looking online at other such mice, some say that the wi-fi connection uses less battery and lasts longer on a charge than Bluetooth, while others say the opposite and that Bluetooth lasts longer.I wonder though why these rechargeable mice only last for a number of days when a mouse using an AA battery lasts for months and months. Having to recharge the mouse every few days is an inconvenience, albeit a relatively minor one. And I had one odd occurrence with it that I don’t think I’ve ever had in my many years of computing, in that one day the mouse pointer on the screen was very slow and jerky to respond so as to be basically unusable. I had to shut off the mouse using the switch on the bottom side and then turn it back on, and then it was fine again. It seems to have somehow ‘crashed’, but it was only the one time and maybe that was a fluke. I have had mice crash in other ways now that I think of it, so I guess it’s something that can happen to the best of ’em.A couple of positive features: you can adjust the speed of the mouse pointer by pressing a button on the underside of the mouse. It cycles through a few different ‘speeds’ (resolutions, or DPI’s I think it’s called). And another thing that is REALLY nice is that they include an extra set of the mouse ‘slides’, the feet on the bottom of the mouse which let it slide easily. I have worn through many of those on other mice and when they wear out, the mouse is unpleasant to use and there’s no way to fix it. With this mouse, there’s a brand new set that comes with it for you to rejuvenate the mouse back to like-new performance. Another thing I like is that is shows LED segments at all times with the charge level (1, 2, or 3 lit) so you know when you need to give it a recharge. That’s handy. In all, this seems to me to be a very acceptable mouse.

    Great budget/backup mouse
So far it’s working without issue. Have an older Logitech G305 that the mouse button is starting to get extra clicks and is a known issue. So this was a good temp replacement on a budget for my work setup.

Exceptional budget gaming mouse with excellent software, mouse grips, extra mouse skates
This is one of those products that focuses on presentation when taking it out of the box. Upon opening the impressive looking sturdy box you will see the Mechlands AULA SC580 mouse comes very well-protected with a thick foam insert holding the mouse. What is shocking, is nowhere in the listing does it say you also get a very nice quality braided USB-A to USB-C cable, mouse grip tape, and extra mouse skates. This is a major omission by the seller not mentioning this in the listing as mouse grip tape and extra mouse skates make this mouse even more of a bargain than it already is. You will also find the short 6 page manual which unfortunately is not available as a download at the website which is named aulastar for English users. Also unfortunately, there is no mention of a warranty either in the listing or at the website. It can connect wired over USB, 2.4 GHz dongle or Bluetooth.I’ve grown fond of lightweight mice lately. The Mechlands AULA SC580 weighs 80g and is not near as lightweight as some other of my favorite lightweight mice like the E-Yooso X-44 which weighs a mere 52g. However, because of its ergonomic shape and outstanding quality mouse skates on the bottom it feels as effortless to move across the desktop as mice that are much lighter.Buttons and Ergonomics: The mouse is suited for left or right-handed use, and is very comfortable to hold. The sides and top are smooth but you get mouse grips to apply to the sides and top but it really doesn’t need them because of how well designed the mouse is. The left and right clicks are not 100% silent, but they are fairly quiet as mouse clicks go. The mouse wheel moves easily and the mouse wheel button does not require much effort to push. It is easily one of my favorite mouse wheels which is often a problem with many budget mice I have reviewed. The forward and back buttons are fairly quiet and not cheap feeling like many budget mice and they might be one of my favorite back and forward buttons as well. Over the course of an 8 hour day, I found the mouse extremely comfortable to use.Battery: 500 mAh which they claim will last 10-14 days with 5 hours of daily use.Driver software: To find the software (which I assume is only for Windows) you need to go to the English version of the website which starts with aulastar, click on Driver at the top and then follow the link to the International page which is just a Google Drive download page. The driver is near the bottom of the page in a zip file under AULA SC580 and came up 100% clean at VirusTotal. The software is fairly easy to understand however you need administrative privileges to run it.Sleep mode: In the manual It says it goes into “level 1 mild sleep” after 1 minute (confirmed) and you can wake it up by moving the mouse. When it goes into deep sleep mode (6 minutes by default) you must use a mouse click to wake it up. The manual also states “It will take 5 minutes to wake up the mouse by pressing the button.” Actually, no. Lol. Sounds like a bad translation to me.DPI Settings: You can have from one to six DPI levels, and you change DPI levels by using the button at the bottom of the mouse or in the software. Each DPI level is also adjustable in the software anywhere from 200 to 10000. By default in wired or 2.4 Ghz mode it is 800-1600-2400-3200-6400-10000.Polling rates: You also have 4 polling rates you can choose from in the software, 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, and 1000 Hz.By clicking on Config you can choose between 3 different gaming profiles. You also have a Debounce Time setting adjustment along with a very clear battery indicator in the lower right under Electricity with a battery percentage along with a colored battery icon. You can remap any button to something else except for the DPI button on the bottom which can not be changed. There is also a Macro Editor which I did not bother trying but I assume it works. Under Power Manager you can adjust the deep sleep mode from 3 minutes to 10 minutes. There is also a “Motion wake up” checkbox, but it only works for the level 1 mild sleep mode, not deep sleep mode. Mouse Parameter takes you to Windows Mouse Properties.Mechlands AULA SC580 – $29.99 ($25.50 with 15% off coupon)Size/Shape: 4.7 x 2.4 x 1.5 inches6 DPI levels: 800-1600-2400-3200-6400-100004 polling rates 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, 1000 HzWeight: 80gBattery: 500 mAhWarranty not listedExtras: Braided USB-A to USB-C cable. mouse grip tape, extra mouse skatesPositives: Excellent software, quality mouse skates, lightweight, quiet mouse clicks, 6 DPI levels, 4 polling rates up to 1000 Hz, ergonomic and comfortable to use for long periods, excellent mouse wheel, compartment on bottom of mouse with cover to hold 2.4 GHz receiverNegatives: Software only works in Windows, no warranty listedI previously reviewed a very inexpensive AULA wired mouse before which I also liked a lot because of the shape and excellent software that came with it. AULA has impressed me again. A lot of budget mice have one or two things where you can tell they cut corners to keep the price down, most of the time with the back and forward buttons or the mouse wheel. Outside of there being no warranty listed, I can find nothing to dislike about this mouse. It has one of the best standard mouse wheels I have tried on any mouse. It’s a quality mouse that really needs to mention the mouse grip tape and extra mouse skates you get with it. While hard core gamers may want a better sensor or higher DPI, for the casual gamer or just for desktop use it’s an outstanding value.
