Great Coverage, Long Battery Life, Ample Recordings, and No Service Fee
I’m incredibly pleased so far (after a week) with my decision to replace my old home surveillance server and cameras with VicoHome cameras and their accompanying app. The flexibility and cost-effectiveness of not being held hostage by a service requiring an additional WiFi hub piggy-backed on my network—and charging a monthly fee just to access my own videos—is truly refreshing.- installation was fast, intuitive, and easy. Batteries were charged at about 77% upon receipt, I just upped them to 100% before installing.- The App is intuitive, complete, and fun to use. No connectivity problems. Linking to the cameras was so easy – I was shocked actually.- Watertight compartment is on the bottom of the camera (good), and the water-resistant cover is made to operate with fingers alone. No having to pry the cover open with a metal edge. Cover fits back snugly in place without a lot of fussing to get it just right.- After 6 days of use, ALL of the batteries are still at 100% charge.- I ordered 64 Gigabyte micro SD cards for each camera, which stores about 25 hours (at 2K definition, 60 hrs at 720p) of continuous video or around ~4 to 6,000 video segments. You can scroll through and download individual videos to your App device, but they all have to be deleted as one group (a reformat of the SD card) when you want to clear for more recording space. On the cloud storage, you can delete and download individual videos.- I have not observed the delay in recording start that others here have mentioned. I get instantaneous recording without paying the cloud-AI fee.- While the full cloud-AI service costs $9.99 per month, the ‘without-fee’ cloud video storage is good for alerts and scanning of up to 3 days of segments, which is fine for me (max time is 20 seconds of recording). But then you can just skip over to your onboard SD card for that camera to view and download up to 3 minutes of recorded time of that same video segment the cloud hosted.- Mounts came with everything you need to measure, place, and install the camera/mounts.- Camera aspect ratio is wide – so you get a great panoramic view (100-110 degrees?) of your targeted area. Far better than my old system, and at 2K video (2048p) as well. If you need, you can step down to Standard Definition (720p) for both the monitoring and/or recording definition, if WiFi bandwidth or amount of video stored is a concern.- infrared night vision (with IR illumination) is very good, and you can set the indicator lights to on or off while it records.- Sound recording and amplification were superb. I could hear myself breathing through my nose as I carried the ladder walking up to the recording camera to adjust its angle on a later date after installation.- You can set the recording time to a daily schedule, and differentiate by day of week, as well as adjust the detection sensitivity among low, med, high settings.A Few Minor Downsides:1. The ‘flip camera angle’ only does a 180 degree flip, so you cannot screen-adjust for 90 degree camera rotation (long tall subject areas).2. If the camera points into a partially sunlit area on a clear day, the sunlit area may wash out the shadow areas, rendering both video and motion detection in the shadows moot. Make sure you point to an almost all sunny or almost all shadowed area, and not a 50/50 mix, for best results.3. It may warn you that the WiFi signal is too low, or you need to set the camera to SD to prevent lag. This warning is premature – the cameras work fine as long as you get 2 or more bars of WiFi signal.4. Only one instance of the App accessing your cameras can be logged in at a time. So if your spouse attempts to view the cameras after you have previously used the App they will have to ‘sign in’ to the App again. You will then need to sign in again after they have used it as well. Very minor issue if you save your password to the App device.5. The provided screws were soft metal, so you may want to use your own small hardened Philips-head screws as the provided screws will strip if you attempt to drive them into anything other than drywall.Overall, an A+ and very pleased.

Awesome Security Camera, Peace of Mind!
This little egg shaped security camera is a solid, easy-to-use option for keeping an eye on your home. Setup took less than 15 minutes and the app made it super easy even if you’re not very techy. The camera itself looks sleek and blends in nicely wherever you place it.The video quality is impressive, especially for the price. You get clear 1080p footage, and the night vision works surprisingly well even in total darkness. The motion detection is great too—you can adjust the sensitivity and set specific areas to monitor, so you’re not getting alerts for every little thing, like pets moving around. The two-way audio feature is handy if you need to talk to someone at the door or give instructions to a delivery person. You can choose between cloud storage or using an SD card for local storage, which is a nice option if you don’t want to pay for a subscription. It automatically takes snippets of video when motion is detected too so I’m not worried about missing any action.Overall, this camera has been reliable, even with average WiFi. It’s easy to access footage remotely, and it gives you peace of mind without breaking the bank. Definitely worth it if you’re looking for an affordable, dependable camera. I also love how it comes with a bright yellow sticker to let everyone know they’re on camera. Bonus!

NOT A 24/7 RECORDING CAMERA!!! Good quality but there are minor issues
If you intend on using these cameras as an “indoor” for outdoor surveillance, they aren’t the best. To prevent damage and other issues of having the cameras outside (I live in an apartment complex) I initially got them to put up in the windows to face outside so no one could mess with them. Unfortunately these cameras are NOT 24/7 recording, the only time you will have anything stored in your library as a recording in your app is any movement the camera might pick up and it will record only a certain time limit after the movement stops. They’re only good for live view for indoor/outdoor use during any movement the cameras might pick up. And if you’re intending to use them for indoor use through a window to use as a security camera to view outside, it will ONLY work during live view, even if the window is extremely clear for whatever reason the cameras will not pick up on any kind of motion or movement or anything which defeats the purpose honestly. So you have to catch whatever action during live and record it yourself. But if you use them indoor for like your bedroom or something they will work to pick up motion and will record the motion. And if you have them outdoor and the motion is in certain range of the camera. Just no windows. I hope that’s not confusing. As far as that, they’re great quality. You do have to have a subscription but it’s not much. they don’t need the subscription for them to work on a basic level. You can also use an SD card instead of the sub. You get a free 30 day trial before purchase, but, you do have to have a subscription on both cameras (which was a bummer to find out) if you want one which will give you the benefits on both of them like storing motion detected recorded footage, Ai, certain/specific movement/motion detections like a package being delivered, a person, a car, an animal, etc. so remember that one subscription is only good for one camera, each camera requires one. The degree of view of the cameras are excellent and the night vision is incredible, it’s colored night vision. The flash light/white light is extremely bright which allows you to see so much at night if you want to use the white light option. You can still see great without it. The two way audio isn’t the best but it isn’t the worst, it is kind of a low volume and is a tad bit muffled sounding but still works better than some others. There’s also an alarm you can set off by the press of a button on the app (the alarm will not go off auto during any motion detection, you have to physically press it to set it off). The app is also very user friendly. During live mode you can snap a photo or record a video on the screen and it will save to your phones library. Just possibly consider another camera if you’re wanting a camera that records 24/7 having the ability to go back and look on things plus get notifications on motion detections and that can capture surveillance and motions through a window because this one absolutely will not. It was labeled as indoor/outdoor so I thought it would work because I know several people who use their cameras in their windows to have surveillance facing outdoor without it physically being outdoor. Where I live there are possibilities of wild kids throwing balls or rocks at the cameras if they were outside, purposely trying to mess with or break them, or the part where I want the camera if it was outside is too easily accessible by an arm reach so anyone could easily cover it up and steal off my porch or anything. Which is why I wanted the window option because upstairs has the view of everything and my downstairs window has a second view of everything and they’re not easily accessible being inside like that. I’m pretty bummed about that because if I don’t catch what’s going on live then I catch nothing at all. No full day footage to look back on or anything like a 24/7 recording camera would do. There are sooo many options to chose from, I figured all cameras would record all day PLUS notify you on motion detection but now I know and will be purchasing a camera that I’m needing. Hope this helps someone.
