Solid binoculars, smartphone holder is great
This is a good kit for any stationary observation where you also want to take photos/video, such as birdwatching. These are fairly standard binoculars, not much has changed with those over the years. But these come with a smartphone holder, which is a great idea given the quality of today’s smartphone cameras – where they are usually lacking is in the zoom, which the binoculars will provide. The tripod is not bad either, letting you set up the whole thing to be free standing – smartphone and all.All in all, if this fulfills a need for you you should get it!

    Excellent powerful binoculars for hiking
I have had several binoculars before. They are usually either the kiddy size or the 10×50 monsters. For bird watching I usually have the heavy old metal 10×50. They have enough magnification and very large objective lens for really bright images. What I was looking for was something in between; lightweight but also good optical qualities. This set of 12×42 binoculars did what I needed. The powerful magnification is great for bringing the distant tree much closer and the large objective lens gives a very bright seen. I don’t know what the coated optics do but the view was excellent even in the dim light us bird watchers are used to during those early morning walks.I really appreciate the design of the eyepiece to adapt so well to people with eyeglasses as well as people without eyeglasses. The focus adjustment control is large and heavily knurled to make it easy to use even when wet. The focus range does not include very close objects like 20 feet away. There are very good covers on the objective lens side that you will not lose. The covers on the eyepiece side also have a loop to attach to the neck strap. The neck strap is a bit cheap, and you have to attach it yourself because it comes separate. These binoculars are very durable. They are made of a material with a rubberized surface for a really good grip. With the lens caps on this set of binoculars could easily take a drop onto rocks. The rubberized surface came loose a little near the focus wheel but that does not affect function. As for the gimmicks that came with the binoculars, they are very good tools but fall short of the intended purpose. The tripod and the right-angle bracket to attach the tripod to the binoculars are very good pieces for a camera but the single screw attachment between the “L” bracket and the binoculars is weak because of the lack of a rubber surface. It easily comes loose making the whole arrangement useless. As for the cell phone camera to binocular eyepiece tool I had lots of trouble. Aligning the cell phone camera to the binocular eyepiece was difficult and the modern multi lens cell phone make it harder. Even worse, the rubberizes eyepieces that move to adjust for glasses vs naked eyes is not where you want to attach the cell phone because it moves. The ring of the cell phone adaptor does not want to come off of the eyepiece ring. While the gimmicks were a bit of a disappointment, they did not detract much from the overall quality of the binoculars. It is the optical quality that counts the most. These are the binoculars I want to bring with me on those great hikes. The price is great as well. My 10×50 binoculars cost $50.

    Great bang for buck.
I do a lit of shooting and use a bunch of high end scope and binos. My friend had a set of these and it made me want to pick up a pair of them for how cheap and good they are to keep in my truck.

    Great views!
These binoculars are impressive! As a fella who works in an optical world, I gotta say, these little guys work wonderful!Easy PD adjustments, easy focusing!High quality optics as a great price!

    Needs improvement
This was given as a gift. Phone attachment is difficult to use and at least with IPhone the zoom with the phone itself takes better pictures. Great idea, but needs much improvement. Iwouldn’t recommend buying for cell phone use.

    Binoculars yes, accessories meh
I’m no binocular expert. I’ve used some before, but I wouldn’t necessarily know what makes a pair better quality other than normal intuition. That said, these are fine for what they are. They seem to be in the price range where someone getting their first pair wouldn’t be disappointed, unless they set some unrealistic expectations considering the price. The binoculars feel okay, the wheel adjustment seems a little loose like if you get bumped you might slip and push them out of focus. It doesn’t seem very likely, but it’s not a smooth, firm focuser. They open and close nicely and don’t feel like the hinge will fall apart on me any time soon. And they magnify what you see, fairly well. They basically do exactly what you want reasonably entry level binoculars to do.Why three stars then? A couple of reasons:First, I went through two pairs of these. The first one, despite being ordered on the same listing that promises a tripod and a phone mount to be able to take photos, had neither. It did come with the case, the carrying strap, and the microfiber cloth, which is at least something, but in any case I had to return these completely to get the full product, since you generally can’t return for partial replacement or just have the company ship you only the missing parts.Secondly, after I went through that effort of returning the first pair to get a replacement, I…kind of don’t want the accessories that I waited for. I always knew the phone mount would be a novelty, but I didn’t realize quite how much it would feel like a novelty, and quite how cheap it would feel. The same goes for the stand–it technically works, but I don’t see it lasting very long or doing a great job.Realistically not everyone’s use case will find that to be relevant, but since it’s part of the package, I felt the need to point it out. And if you see these as strictly bonuses, maybe you won’t find problems with them at all or will be willing to put up with the issues. But you might be able to find a better set of binoculars for the same price, without trying to pack in extras. Or you might find equivalent binoculars for cheaper without the extras. You won’t go wrong with these, you just might be putting money into some weak add-ons, which of course is fine as long as you know what you’re getting for your money.
