A fighting game lovers perfect handheld.
The rg arc-d is an absolute dream come true for fighting game lovers or those who love the Sega Saturn.The controls and button layout is pretty spot on from the Sega Saturn controller and the screen is tack sharp and visible at every angle.Please note that of you order the 128GB model, the micro SD card and screen protector are hidden underneath the plastic holding the unit. When it arrived I didn’t think it was there, because I assumed the sd card would be in the unit.I was originally going to purchase an analogies pocket, but the cost and shipping times were much higher than the rg arc-d. Glad that I hot this instead. If you love fighting games or the Saturn and Genesis, I would highly recommend this unit

So glad we have a 3/6 button Handheld!!
I love this thing. As a Genesis kid this brings back such good memories of Golden Axe, Pit Fighter and Sonic that I used to play as a kid. Sure you don’t need this device to play this, but working a 4 button vs an actual 3 button just isn’t the same. This performs very well on all the retro games I’ve thrown at it. I also really dig the oversized dish style d-pad. It might be my favorite D-pad across my devices (and I have more than 6, some high end). Build wise – its’ ok. Not the sexiest device Anbernic has made, but that’s not to say its bad. Its built sturdy with strong, thick plastic. It just doesn’t have the design appeal of other handhelds – but its true to form of the Genesis controller.

Missing 128gb SD card
I only received the 16gb system sd card and didn’t receive the 128gb sd card with the system.

Best way to play 2d fighters in a portable form factor
The button layout is rather close to Sega’s 6 button pads. Feels very natural to use for fighting games compared to trying to cramp my hands around to use an L button or something. (Never really got used to the old milk bone style controller for that kind of thing.)Does have some oddness with SNES as its configured out of the box since two of the face buttons don’t do anything. You can remap buttons, but it comes across as a hassle to me.Battery life is okay. Kinda typica for one of these things. Maybe 3-4 hours.

Control setting is a nightmare
Was so excited waiting for this to arrive since I saw the great reviews on youtube. Opened the box and turned the rg arc d on, checked the history and found a long list of games…..they sent me a used hand held. Checked the settings and timezone was from shanghai.. was annoyed this wasn’t brand new. Like come on man…this thing wasn’t cheap, if I wanted a used version, I could have just gotten one cheaper!!There are alot of fighting games, but the control settings are all based off the 4 button controller. It was a pain to map it into 6 button for every game. I gave up on Mk 2 controller setting. Can’t even move sonic in sonic adventure 1 & 2 because the dpad doesn’t work and there is no analog joystick. Tried mapping the control and still won’t work. I wish they added analog joystick like they did to every other anbernic handheld.Battery life is weird. It would drain even if it was shut off. Turned it back on couple days without playing and battery life was drained.Graphics was good and I like how the screen is bigger and the feel of the controller design was good. I used to have sega saturn and this controller feels just like that. If only the controller mapping wasn’t just a pain to deal with.Since I own the rg35xx h, I am returning this. It was a major disappointment.

Classic Sega 6button controller.
Amazing device. Hope they keep this form factor and eventually add dual analog sticks and analog triggers. Otherwise, this easily plays classic arcade and Sega Genesis/6 button. Saturn emulation is hit and miss. DC runs well though.
