What is the maximum thickness that the clamp can handle?
The PC gaming microphone boom arm can mount tightly to the desk up to 2.1” thick. Overly rounded or overhanging desktop edges do not make good mounting surfaces.Make sure the C-clamp are resting on the flat surfaces.

A great entry level mic for a casual user like myself
I have nothing but good things to say about this microphone. If you don’t want to read a long review, the tl;dr: This is a great plug-n-play microphone that has great sound quality and a price that can’t be beat.When the pandemic hit in 2020, I started playing online games with friends. When things went back to normal a few years later, we kept playing online as many of us had moved to different areas of the US.During that time, I used a nice set of bluetooth headphones and that was adequate. We mostly played strategy games, board games, or poker games where sound quality didn’t matter.In 2024 we hopped on the Helldivers 2 train and the bluetooth headphones just weren’t cutting it. To use the microphone with bluetooth, you have to accept the sound changes from full stereo to hands-free mono. For a game like Helldivers 2, that just didn’t work. I couldn’t hear anything at all.So I decided to invest in a microphone. I know nothing at all about microphones and just wanted something relatively cheap that would work. I did a little research and the main thing people said was to get a “dynamic mic” as opposed to a “condenser mic”. Shocker, the dynamic mics are more expensive, often costing $100+.I ended up getting this Fifine, which was significantly cheaper. And to be honest, I wouldn’t be able to tell it was a cheap model. The quality of this mic looks really good and feels solid. It uses USB-C which is nice, and even has an XLR jack for the serious audio people (I don’t know anything about this — I just use the USB jack).It is seriously plug-n-play. It took me all of 5 minutes to unbox and get set up at my desk. It just…works.The only additional recommendation I’d make. Even though this is supposed a “dynamic mic” which only picks up sounds right next to the mic, I found this still picked up all my keyboard strokes and could even pick up mouse clicking.The solution to this if you have an Nvidia card is Nvidia Broadcast. It is free and it has some sort of noise filtering that does an excellent job to remove background noise like what I mentioned above.If you need a stand and a mic and don’t want to dive down the rabbit-hole of audio equipment, this is probably your best value-to-quality option. It’s no nonsense, dead easy to set up, and in conjunction with noise filtering software like Nvidia Broadcast sounds phenomenal.

Great Mic for Lower Price
Got this mic after Christmas when it was on sale, and has been AMAZING. The stand is very stable, the mic quality is amazing, and is very easy to hook up to XLR. Can be sensitive at first, but it can be fixed with moving it further away. The mic is very small for how it is, but is it really good. Friends told me that it sounds amazing. It is very light compared to other microphones. Very functional, would buy again.

I’m extremely impressed with this microphone. It’s been a fantastic addition to my office setup for meetings and calls. The microphone works seamlessly with my thin client, and the sound quality is clear and crisp.For the price, the build quality is unbelievable. The microphone itself has a solid weight to it, and it feels much higher-end than what I expected for the cost. The included mic stand does feel a bit cheap, but it works perfectly fine and is a nice bonus at this price point. I also really like the changing colors on the mic—it adds a sleek, professional touch that makes it look even more premium. The microphone has a standard size with a great feel, without overpowering your desk space.The buttons all function well, though you do need to be careful not to accidentally hit the mute button while repositioning the mic mid-sentence. Worked immediately. Tremendous sound quality. Looks cool (square not round shape). Grabs onto the corner of my desk nicely. Easy to move. Rotates and bends (and stays) nicely. Cool light that can switch colors and be a wave of rotating multicolor (sick). Good knobs. Seems like good construction in 2 months of use. Would recommend – great value for price.

This is exceptional quality for the price you pay. I was initially going for a Rode, but I thought, let’s save money! Most people ignore the fact that these days you can get to 90% of the audio quality of a Rode mic in post-production. You click one button (“enhanced audio”) on a software like CapCut, and you can achieve the sound quality of a $200 mic with a $20 mic. I still din’t want to gor for a $20-30 option though. So got this instead.Takeaway:- Extremely sturdy (especially with the stand).- LOVE the LED lights. I was scared when I ordered, because I like minimalistic & “less is more” design. But the LED light is classy and understated. Looks beautiful at night. So yeah, they’re not the disco lights I was fearing.- Excellent at background noise control.- Ideal for podcasting, providing that radio-like sound.- Better than most $150-200 options.For now, I have nothing negative to say, but I will update if I encounter any issues. I’m really happy I didn’t run after the “known brands” and went ahead with this product. Probably saved $100.
