Bring Your Friends for the Outbreak (Detailed Multiplayer Explanation)
My two friends and I got this game for the explicit reason of having a multiplayer experience together, and it does not disappoint. Multiplayer is unlocked after the relatively short prologue tutorial, after which your friends are free to do anything and everything together (or even spread out if you so desired). However, all quests – storyline and side missions – must be accepted, performed, and handed in with all members presents. But what if one of your friends (or random team members through matchmaking) isn’t able to keep up with the rest of you while parkouring to the goal? Easy solution: once the first player to reach the goal initiates the progression, all other players who are immediately nearby are given the option to fast travel to the rest of the group via holding down the touchpad. More games should have this type of accessibility available for players who don’t have the best map awareness or simply get side-tracked easily. It can even be used to maximize efficiency, by having one player sprint to the goal while others scavenge for items in the mean time.Another way multiplayer has been thoroughly thought out is in how mission progression works. If all players start off in the same place, e.g. immediately after the prologue, any quests completed together will be carried over to the single-player experience. However, if one or more members move ahead in the story in their spare time, as long as the player with the least progression hosts the session, all other players’ quest completion will be rolled back to the host’s timeline ONLY for that session. So if you’re 10 missions ahead of one friend, and you only complete 5 missions, you’ll still be 10 missions ahead in your single-player experience. But if you complete 15 missions together, you’ll be that much further along in your single-player as well. Note that if a player who has progressed further decides to host, any missions completed will NOT be counted for teammates who haven’t made it that far yet, so it’s absolutely important that the least-progressed player hosts the session. Also another great feature is that your character progression (skills and items) are saved separate from your mission progression, meaning you can have reached end-game and maxed out all skills with powerful weapons, join a session hosted by a new player, and still have your super powered character swatting zombies left and right.A few other smaller details about multiplayer are that almost all items can be dropped and effectively shared between players (apart from lockpicks), and the number of zombies scales slightly. There are also competitive challenges that pop up once in a while that has your group work against each other in small ways without affecting the main quest, such as seeing who can reach the goal first, or who can kill the most zombies in the time given. There are even (optional) zombie invasions that can test your groups ability to coordinate attacks, or simply to test their ability to run like hell. All in all, Dying Light is a very robust and well thought out co-op experience, and highly recommended for playing through in a group.

    Awesome game set
Dying Light is becoming one of my favorite video games! I’ve been really addicted and playing a ton lately. Far Cry 3 will always be my #1 all-time go-to pick, but this one comes close in terms of long-term enjoyment and overall fun.Pros:lengthy main mission and plenty of side work to keep you going for hours and hoursgreat co-oplevel-up system is decent and worth the first few levels of horrible weapons and fast deathsGood music and sound effects… the noises are downright creepy and unsettling at timesCons:There are a couple places in the game during which you lose your loot and weapons for the duration of a mission. Upon completion of a mission, you don’t automatically get everything back in your backpack. This means you have to your stash in the safe house and retrieve everything … weapons, loot, mods, medkits, lockpicks, everything. Very tedious and annoying.I do wish there were a couple more fast travel options. There is only available and it’s not an option until the Old Town is unlocked and played for a while. A couple for each map would be nice, just to save a little on time, although I do realize that traversing the world of the undead is part of the challenge of this setting.Overall the pros far outweigh the cons and I think it deserves the full five stars. Just started The Following last night so my rating is mostly surrounding the base game. So far my thoughts on The Following: the dune buggy is a fun addition; the day/night cycle seems to roll around faster but maybe that’s just my imagination; I’m excited to get the crossbow but haven’t encountered it yet; I was so stoked that my character and loot ported over from my old game which was stored on the ps4 and not on the disc that came in this set.

What More Could You Ask For?
If you like zombies, action, beautiful scenery, Zombies, crafting weapons, being chased by ZOMBIES, and having the ability to do it all with friends….you’re going to LOVE this game! Granted, I was more than likely in the minority of people who actually thoroughly enjoyed Dead Island (played through it about 3 times!), but I still think this game builds on and surpasses that game on every level…EXCEEDINGLY!!! I played the demo and never really gave it a fair shake, afterward, I decided to jump on this version with the added expansions and I’m glad I did. It’s very addictive and aside from the side missions, which are at times, a bit monotonous, the main story is interesting and engaging. Overall I am extremely pleased with this title and definitely recommend it to anyone that has ever played a undead-infested game.
