Doorbell camera
Was pleasantly surprised at the clarity! Looks great. Also I purchased the wireless one hoping for decent battery life. I’ve had it 6 days and the battery is at 84%. Was not expecting this kind of life from the battery. I have the sensitivity set high also.Setup is easy, comes with mounting plate or 3M mounting backing. I used it and it sticks immediately and stays secure.Clear, bright IR view at night. Highly recommended

Works Great!
Packaged well and delivered on-time. Husband installed and indicated was very easy. System has no false human motion detection and has very clear view. Need to take your time and configure property if hardwired and wiring existing doorbell. READ directions and follow to your configuration setup. Rings our phone(s) when doorbell is activated. You have two alert settings when doorbell is activated. Phone ring or message alert on your phone. Remote doorbell has many ring tones via your phone software or directly on doorbell unit. We used a 64gb card in unit to avoid using Cloud recording services (fees). No fees for recordings using your own card. Great product.

Terrific smart doorbell cam
Tapo doorbell d225 works great. It easily out performs our Blink doorbell that it replaced. There are no fees and it uses a micro sd storeage or cloud. The 2k video takes quality video. It comes with a built in battery or you can connect to doorbell wiring.

Great video doorbell. But then again, are you surprised? It is TP-Link, after all.
I’ll write more below, but here’s the bottom line: Yes, you should buy this doorbell. It absolutely beats the competitors in this area, including the one made by the company whose shopping platform you’re using right now (rhymes with “Sing”). I can’t say I’m surprised this doorbell is so good, though. TP-Link clearly thinks carefully about its products and works hard to put out high-quality stuff (I have several other items from TP-Link, and I’ve always been pleased at how reliable and high-quality their stuff is).Additional details:-Price point is excellent. Extremely fair.-Set up and installation are a breeze and connectivity is great.-Motion detection is great, and you can configure sensitivity and areas for detection. It also supports person detection, vehicle detection, and animal detection (each of which can be further configured with the same options, either as a group so everything has the same settings or independent from one another). I’ve not tested the vehicle or animal detection, but the person detection is quite good. And if you’re getting false positives, you can give the doorbell feedback and it will improve. You can also, of course, tweak the sensitivity of detection. But it’s nice to see TP-Link include the option to help train the doorbell. The training occurs locally, for your doorbell only (i.e., it doesn’t mean your images will then be sent to the cloud or their servers and used to train their algorithms centrally; they respect your privacy).-You can opt in to their subscription service if you want cloud recording, but I specifically sought out doorbell cameras that permitted local storage only (which is what I favor). Even with local storage, the doorbell is very responsive.-Video quality is excellent. The camera also has an “auto” feature when live streaming to give the highest resolution that makes sense for your connection speed and strength at the time of viewing.-Audio quality is similarly great. It also supports different modes of talking through the doorbell. One works sort of like a walkie-talkie, and one works more like a video call. Answering doorbell rings works like a video call. But you can sneak a peek at who is at your doorbell before “officially” answering (it’ll turn audio and video on on the doorbell, but keep your mic muted so they won’t know you’re screening who’s at your door).-Battery life is good. I’ve seen some complaints about battery life, but I suspect this comes from people not fully charging their doorbell or using it all the time. There’s no such thing as infinite battery!Bottom line: If you buy this, I’m confident you’ll wonder why you didn’t make the move sooner. Say goodbye to whatever competitor version you might have and come on in, the water’s just fine. Or, if this is your first foray into smart doorbells, you’re in for a treat with this as your introduction.

Pretty good
I bought this to replace a Ring doorbell. The images are clearer and I like that it works in the Tapo app with the switches and other Tapo devices I have. Setup was easy. There is one ongoing issue and some smaller things which won’t affect everyone.1) The camera is slow to recognize approaching people. If someone walks quickly the saved video may show only their back as they leave. If they arrive slowly or stand at the door the picture is great.2) The wide angle lens is the wrong choice for our home. People tend to think “wider is better”, but visitors can only approach our door in one way. Well over half the field of view is wasted on a wall on one side or landscaping on the other. And no, no one is going to sneak up through the landscaping, they way things are laid out. Another lens option would be nice.3) A wedge is provided to bias the camera left and right. This is a good idea and I used it, but they failed to provide a way to mount the camera on siding which overlaps at an angle. I had to design and 3D print a second wedge to correct for that (see photo).4) The IR light for night conditions can light adjacent surfaces so brightly that the camera has to reduce brightness, making areas you actually want to see very dim. Angling the camera away from the wall I mentioned helped, but it is a partial solution. A way to physically block the light from some of its range would be very helpful. Of course a narrower field of view for both lens and the lights would be even better (see item 2).

Awesome camera for the price!
Absolutely love this camera for the price.Came from Wyze cameras, and this camera has very good picture quality. The night vision function works really well. The Tapo app is very responsive and easy to use, something I had issues with on Wyze. The camera even has the ability to use an SD card, something that a lot of battery operated cameras do not allow. The battery lasts 2-3 months at a time which eliminates the need to charge it all the time. You can also disable the LED which helps keep the camera less noticeable (if you want that). When someone presses the doorbell button, your phone rings as if someone is calling you, which works really well.Another plus is that the Tapo subscriptions are much cheaper than some of their competitors.

Our last video doorbell kept switching off and not working so got this instead and is already proving to be the best value.Easy to install, microSD card storage means no need for online subscription services, with a 256gb card will keep well over a year of recorded video clips, it can take up to 512gb!.The motion detection is fully customizable with plenty of options which make it very powerful however the interface is extremely easy to use, making it a quick and simple task to set up all important areas to monitor and ignore the areas that have constant traffic so you are not constantly alerted every time a car drives past. The included remote chime just plugs into any outlet and can be heard from anywhere in our house, battery is good for a month of use on a charge and it can run directly off the current from the original doorbell, just bypass the chime so there is a constant current.Video quality is great, slight delay but I’ve never seen one with true real time to your phone. No network connectivity issues at all.Oh and works with Both Android and Apple.
