Customers say
Customers find the video game controller has good quality and ergonomic buttons. They appreciate the comfortable rubber hand grips and the way their hands naturally rest on the paddles. The buttons have a nice click feel, not loud or clanky like the basic Xbox series. However, opinions differ regarding the build quality, stick drift, grip, and wireless connectivity.

Best feeling, best paddles, best software
I hesitated to order this controller for a while since some said it was small. It is actually a bit bigger than xbox controller, it just doesn’t seem like it from pictures.A few months ago, I replaced my xbox elite 2 controller with a scuf envision pro. Now I’ve replaced the scuf envision pro with the razer. For me, there is no comparision between the 2 for comfort. The scuf for me always felt a bit awkward to hold. The back buttons were somewhat hard to press. Felt more like I was sort of hanging onto the controller. The razer just slots into my hands and everything feels completely natural. Obviously your hands might be different but for me razer destroys the scuf for feel. I like the razer better than xbox controller, which I also preferred over scuf for feel. Now for the other aspects of razer vs scufTriggers – I like the feel of the razer a bit more than scuf, but it is closeBumpers – Scuf maybe has a slightly better sound when using, but about same.Thumb sticks – razer is slightly stiffer than scuf, but somehow they move smoother so they feel less resistant. The tops of the sticks also feel better on razer. Less hard edge.D-pad – razer feels a million times better than scuf. Much easier to press the buttons and move from one to the other.back paddles – not even close, the razer has the best back paddles. I like them more than the xbox elite 2 even. And they destroy the scuf back buttons. Much more natural to hold, easier to click. Fits perfectface buttons (ABXY) – this is the only area where I think the scuf might have an advantage, but it is somewhat subjective. The scuf buttons are much easier to activate and have much less travel distance. For platformers especially this makes for a really fast feel. The razer buttons feel a little more like a springy bounce when you are using the face buttons. They work fine and feel good, just not as fast feeling as the scuf.Software – another place that razer destroys the scuf. iCUE is pretty universally hailed as trash. Still to this day every time I launch iCue, it tells me my controller has a firmware update (hint it hasn’t since the first day I got it). It is slow to launch, has a clunky interface that isn’t intuitive to use. The scuf requires a driver install and it always has the ‘eject’ icon showing in the task bar whenever the controller is connected. The scuf also will never turn off while it is plugged in and charging. The lights will not stay off either, each time I used the scuf I had to turn the lights off again. The razer on the other hand just works. You plug it in and the drivers already come with windows. Completely seamless. The razer software you can install from the MS Store has a great interface and is easy to use. It just works well.Extra buttons – I prefer the extra top buttons on razer to the side buttons on scuf, but your opinion may vary on that. The scuf side buttons worked well enough assuming you didn’t accidently hit them all the time. The front 5 macro buttons were ok but I never really used them as it would have required iCue to be running to remap them.

Pro Controller
I have had multiple Xbox Elite Series 2 controllers (collecting other than having one that got stick drift). I have loved them since the beginning and couldn’t imagine buying another controller without rear paddles. The only vice I had was that the Elite controllers had removeable paddles on the back and they also stick out a bit more than I like, leaving me readjusting my fingers or grip at times. The Razer is the upgrade to the upgrade. The hair triggers are easier to control and seem more durable. The hall effect sticks have been going hard for a couple months now with no issue and the thumbsticks lock in place much better than the Elite Series 2. The mapping of the buttons is a little more complicated than the Elite series 2 but with a little patience and reading, anyone can do it. There are also 2 extra buttons located roughly off-center of the bumpers and triggers on both the left and the right. By default, they are the pause and select buttons; You could change this to another hotkey if wanted. The game changer for me is the mouse click paddles on the rear of the controller that are more like well-placed buttons. My fingers rest on them perfectly but are not in the way of a comfortable grip. This controller also connects wirelessly via a USB dongle. The form factor of the controller is probably like 3 to 5 percent larger but for me, it rests in my hand perfectly.Don’t get me wrong… I LOVE the Elite Series 2. But I had to dump that girlfriend I used to play with for one I was more compatible with. lol The Razer Wolverine V3 Pro Wireless Gaming Controller. TOP OF THE LINE. WORTH EVERY DOLLAR.

Poor design quality, will not last.
I used and loved this controller for about 6 weeks until the metal housing on the inside of the USB connector broke. Now it won’t reliably work in wired mode, and even using wireless, I have trouble charging it due the intermittent connector. The connector port was always a little loose and flimsy feeling, the weight of the cable was likely too much for it. I contacted Razor and after sending them info and pictures, they asked for my shipping address for the RMA. A day later received a cryptic email pointing to their warranty and saying it doesn’t cover my issue. I guess they think I dropped and damaged the controller, which I did not.I was warned about buying Razor products and now I know why. They won’t take responsibility for a quality/materials/design issue that is happening to more than just me. Worse still, they didn’t even offer to repair the product for a fee. I will never buy another Razor product and will go back to the Xbox Elite – it has quality problems too, but at least Microsoft stands behind it with a good RMA and a repair process.

I’m happy with this controller. For me the Xbox Elite version is the perfect controller for me but the build quality (sticky bumper and stick drift) had me looking for alternatives. This Razer controller has hall effect sticks which wont get stick drift and has good build quality.Coming from the EliteV2 the shape of this Razer controller will take some getting used to, but once you are used to it, it feels good in your hands. At first I didnt like the back paddles but after some time I got used to then and like them now. Overall very happy with this controller.

Just upgraded from the Razer Wolverine v2 and its totally worth it. The new back buttons placement takes a minute to get used to but is so much easier to use compared to the older model. The wireless feature is also a plus. No more strings on me haha.
