    Great quality, great bass
I bought this NZXT sub to pair with my Kanto reference speakers which have excellent sound quality but really do lack bass. I primarily use a 2.1 system for gaming and have been using the Klipsch promedia 2.1s for decades and they finally died on me. I have several other NZXT pc products and have already enjoyed their price per quality. This sub was nicely packaged and easy to install. It’s rather small and takes up minimal real estate under smaller desks. The build quality is above average and the overall finish is very well done with a nice soft matte black.Once booted up and after playing some music and some games I noticed nearly zero bass coming from the sub but with some fine tuning I got some decent bass. It’s not overbearing and house shaking bass, it’s just enough. The bass can sound muddled down a bit so altering the knobs on the back is vital to achieving the sound you want. When fine tuning this sub just be mindful that every set-up is different so you’ll have to mess with your system volume, application volume, sub and speaker volume and finally crossover settings. It’s also advisable to mess with the system EQ settings as well to get the perfect sound you’re looking for. Overall I’m happy I bought this sub when it was on sale versus the very expensive Kanto sub.

Great low end in a small package – perfect for the RV
We have a vintage motor home that we’ve been restoring, and I wanted a stereo system that sounded fantastic – but space is very limited. There’s little wall space due to cabinets, appliances, and windows, plus there’s hardly any floor space that you can fit a big box like most subwoofers. I found the perfect small speakers to mount all along the walls of the living area and kitchen, but most subwoofers are too big. I had to keep it small as possible with no dimension being over 12”. That’s nearly impossible with a good-sounding sub. I started with another brand sub, just a little smaller than this one. It sounded great and fit in well, but had terrible quality issues that I won’t go into here. Then I found this one, and for the price I wondered if it would be any better. It came yesterday, and I first noticed that it was heavier than I expected – much heavier than the competitor’s sub that I had to return. I took it out to the RV and had it working with the sound I wanted within a few minutes. Wow, it fit in the space perfectly, and sounds amazing with my system. It’s got plenty of low end for me, without maxing it out. It’s definitely a keeper. Is it enough low end for some of you who blast music and movies in a large room, and want to rattle the neighbors’ dishes? NO it is not, so don’t read that into what I’m saying. If you like to listen to music or watch TV in a small room or RV at levels that you’d be able to hear somebody next to you if they said something, then this little sub will have more low end than you’ll ever use. The hook up is simple as can be, and the quality seems to be outstanding – we’ll see how it lasts, and I’ll update here if it proves otherwise long term.

    Good little sub
Pretty good for the price. Not extremely bassy, but for my small office and gaming it’s great.

    Great Subwoofer
From a Micca review to this: I upgraded from MB42 speakers to MB42x G2s. Great bass response, however there is a mid lower bump on the new speaker that gives a mild or subdued mid-range response. To compensate I partnered these with a Fosi Audio DA-2120c with built in DAC and equalizer. Also replaced the Fosi 32v x 5amp power with a 36v x 5amp power adapter and 12 gauge speaker wire to maximize speaker wattage and clarity. Also have the NZXT Relay subwoofer for heavy lows and with the tone controls and equalizer the sound quality and balance are great. Have to say these are great near field speakers and I would highly recommend them with a desktop build, surround or just a great 2.1 setup.

Great subwoofer replacement for an old Philips 5.1 HTiB
I have an old Philips 5.1 HTiB from 2001 and the peripherals they came with were crap. I replaced My High-Fives years ago but this Subwoofer actually thumps and is the perfect replacement if You crank down the High-Fives.

    Really really good!
I was surprised by how good these actually sound! The sound is so much richer compared to my previous speakers. They can get really loud, and I like that! The build quality is top notch too. There is a good amount of weight to it and everything feels premium and well made. Really glad that I got these.

    Didn’t work. Need to return

    Ok 2.1 system
TLDR: Aesthetically beautiful speakers with ok sound and remotely no bass. These speakers absolutely require the subwoofer to sound good. Subwoofer doesn’t offer as much bass as you’d expect. Together you get a decent 2.1 system but at what price point?Full review: To start off the speakers and subwoofer had a weird white residue all over random areas. I cleaned off the speakers but left the subwoofer residue to show you. For context I started off with a Logitech 2.1 System but wanted an upgrade in sound quality. I bought the Edifier M60s and these NZXT relay speakers to test the differences. The M60s preformed pretty well but didn’t offer the bass response I needed. However nothing this size will provide amazing bass without a subwoofer. The NZXT relay speakers offered a sub out port which the M60s didn’t have. This was the only reason I gave NZXT a shot. The NZXT relay speakers by themselves sound ok but have virtually no bass response. When you add the NZXT subwoofer to the relay speakers this is when the sound actually becomes pretty decent. I tested multiple games, movies and music. When you turn off and on the sub it’s like night and day, the bass is clearly there but it’s nowhere near what you’d expect from a sub of this size. My $60 Logitech 2.1 subwoofer is half the size and provides equal if not more bass. I will say however the Logitech sub can be a bit muddy while the NZXT is not earth shattering, it’s very clear to say the least. The relay speakers are also more clear than the Logitech speakers but fall short of the M60s that merely cost $20 more. At full price I absolutely would NOT recommend the NZXT speakers nor sub, you’d be better off investing in Audioengines or Kanto speakers and a real sub. However at their %50 off price tag, these become a somewhat decent value for an attractive 2.1 system that’s easy to set up.
